The CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank continues its support for local organizations; and in the month of March when women are being celebrated the bank has made a donation of EC$1000 to the Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW) to assist it in the running of the Council.
Business Support Officer of the Bank Mrs. Rhona Lawrence presented the cheque to the President of the Council Vanya David. Mrs. Lawrence said that the bank was pleased to be partnering with the DNCW as it continues to promote the development of women and that it hoped the money would be used in the furtherance of the growth of entrepreneurship among women.
Ms. David in response thanked the bank for its donation and assured the bank that the funds will be used in the DNCW’s programme for the sustainable development of women particularly the rural women.
She added the donation was timely as the Council continues to celebrate the advancement and success of woman having just celebrated International women’s day and as its activities continue, during the month of March culminating with the Council’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.
For a huge bank could have give more than a 1,000…………………
CIBC always making mileage with little cheques notwithstanding all the interest I pay on my mortgage which is that same $1,000 every month.
Do you damned, don’t do you still damned so CIBC still keep doing. $6000.00 to Cancer Society, $3000 to HIV/AIDS now $1000 to DNCW all that in about 3 weeks I think that is pretty impressive and keeping tell people about your doing, after all it’s their money that you are giving away.
