Commonwealth Day theme is fitting – Malzaire

Bishop Malzaire

Bishop of Roseau His Lordship Gabriel Malzaire has called upon Commonwealth nations to change its disposition towards things of nature.

Commonwealth Day is being celebrated in 53 nations including Dominica under the theme “Science Technology and Society”.

Bishop Malzaire told a huge gathering at the Arawak House of Culture today that the theme couldn’t be more fitting.

“ The face of the earth is changing so rapidly that it brings into question our stewardship towards it despite our scientific and technological capabilities,” he said.

He said the world and all it contains needs to be seen for what it really is. He also called upon the Commonwealth to show an attitude of gratitude.

“It means that all scientific and technological advancement that is made possible through the human genius remains gift to be cherished and appreciated. It is this attitude of gratitude that will change man’s disposition from domination to cultivations, help humanity to replenish rather than to exploit…” he said.

He said the attitude of gratitude will also help develop in each person, respect and reverence to each other and bring development to society.
