Documentary on Delices

ti bwa

In a time of tedious, labour-intensive tasks, the people of the beautiful village of Delices used work songs and percussive rhythms (Ti Bwa) to mentally alleviate the workload as well as reduce feelings of boredom.

This mini-documentary takes us to a period where community spirit was at an all-time high in the production of Cassava and Toloman.

This documentary was produced by the Division of Culture.

Loving it; pass it on, Each One Teach One. Don’t let it die. I remember my grandmother fixing breakfast–she would make her coffee and the young ones would be having “toloman”. Question is “toloman” arrowroot?

Very good documentary showing community spirit and togetherness at its best. Oh how I wish these days would come back…people had more tolerance ,patience and love towards each other. The folks who experienced these ways of life, were very fortunate….Well done Ras Mo and the cultural division.
