Dominica received the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s award for Best Travel Trade Feature. The award was presented during the World Travel Market (WTM), one of the leading trade shows for travel industry professionals.
The award winning writer was Pippa Jacks, travel writer and editor of Travel Trade Gazette (TTG). Ms. Jacks visited Dominica on a press trip from February 10 – 14, 2016. Her article, Greener Pastures enabled Dominica to surpass the other entrants and receive the top award.
Dominica’s Director of Tourism, Colin Piper is participating in WTM from November 7 – 9, 2016.
Private sector participants include Michael Eugene of JTAS and Gregor Nassief of Secret Bay Hotel.
The three day event program provides access to seminars and speed dating with key travel industry buyers and bloggers.
Award is nice, but the true success will be measured in an increase in tourism traffic.
That is great, of course but why didn’t you tell us that of this event and our participation in advance?
Even this release does not say that it takes place in London at the Excel Centre from 7-9 Nov. and you can find the Dominica Tourism Authority on stand CA 235, which they share with the CTO (Caribbean Tourism Organisation). Perhaps Dominicans do not need to know that we spend tax payer’s money participating in such events? One would have thou8ght a that any publicity would be good for our tourism. So much for nation building!
