Dominican, Gordon Julien, has been appointed Scotiabank Country Manager in Antigua.
Julien joined Scotiabank in 2004 as Senior Manager, Compliance, after having spent seven years as a Senior Examiner with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. In November 2009, he joined Scotia’s Management Development Programme that included stints in Retail, Commercial Banking and Credit Risk. His last assignment was that of Branch Manager of Scotiabank Holetown.
Prior to joining the Eastern Caribbean central Bank, Julien worked with the National Development Corporation (now Discover Dominica Authority)in Dominica.
The new Scotia country manager holds an M. Sc. in Financial Management from The Centre for Financial and Management Studies, University of London and a B. Sc. in Economics and Accounting (Honours) from the University of the West Indies. He is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Julien says of his appointment, “I am honored and privileged to be given the opportunity to lead this highly energized and motivated team of Scotiabankers during this challenging economic period. Scotiabank has a long and proud history of serving the Antiguan public, having celebrated its 50th anniversary of operations in Antigua just last year.”
“We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Our emphasis going forward will be to further improve the customer service experience; to not only meet our customers’ expectations but to exceed them” Julien said.
Sean Albert, Managing Director of Scotiabank Caribbean East, to whom Julien reports, said “Gordon is a product of our region with a solid banking background. He excelled in our Management Development Program and there is no doubt that he will also excel in this new position.”

Bro, congratulations again on this outstanding recognition of your contributions to Scotia Bank and the amazing skills you bring. It goes without saying that this distinction is very well deserved. You continue to make all of us in the family proud. Remember, the sky as you see it is not the limit. There’s a whole galaxy and more beyond. Also remember that your gifts come from God.
A correction here for DNO, NDC was split to DIsciover Dominica Authority and Invest Dominica Authority. Gordon was an Investment Officer at NDC so he was in essence carrying on the duties that Invest Dominica is currently doing.
