Dominican publishes third surgery textbook

Dr. Dangleben is from the village of Pointe Michel

Dr Dale Dangleben has published his third surgery textbook. His most recent publication, from Springer publishing, is entitled Acute Care General Surgery: workup and Management.

Acute Care General Surgery provides a succinct, focused overview of a myriad of general surgical emergencies. Each chapter has a concise, practical framework on the workup and management of a specific topic.

The book covers a wide array of pathology from the more common appendicitis, diverticulitis and cholecystitis to those less frequently encountered such as toxic megacolon, Fournier’s gangrene and volvulus.

Learning objectives for each chapter are clearly defined. In addition to differential diagnosis, the work up and management is comprehensively discussed. In addition, a pithy clinical pearl is included to serve as a memory aid for each diagnosis.

Upon reviewing this volume, clinicians who encounter the acute care surgical patient in their practices will be better equipped to rapidly assess, evaluate, diagnose and managing their complex and often challenging problems.

Dr. Dangleben was born and raised in Pointe Michel where he attended the St. Luke’s Primary SchooI. He then went on to the St Mary’s Academy and then Sixth Form College ( SIFOCOL).

After a few years of teaching at SMA he migrated to the U.S and attended Hunter College in NYC where he got his Bacheor’s of Science degree in Chemistry.

Subsequently, he went on to medical school at Penn State University College of Medicine.

Currently, Dr Dangleben is double boarded in General and Trauma Surgery and is the Trauma Medical Director at a large hospital system in Pennsylvania.

I do not congratulate anyone who is helping to destroy his country while boasting how proud he is that he is an American. The headlines are in error in my view. surgresnet

Dr Dale Dangleben is an honest Dominican and a patriot. He tries to help Dominica and its health system every way. However like Dr Sam Christian and many others the Skerrit one man government refuses to cooperate with him. Any honest Dominican professional who tries to help Dominica is victimized by this corrupt government. We will never make progress until we have a government that respects and welcomes all honest and patriot Dominicans who try to prosper our nation,

We congratulate Dale on a major accomplishment. Keep it up good Sir.

CONGRATS in order Dr. Dangles! You have made us proud once again in your quest to be the very best. Oh SMA (Smartest Men Around) you have once again given us a citizen that all of us can call our very own. St. Mary\’s Alma Matta hail to thee all hail, we raise our voice to glorify thy name wherever we be…..

Bro. Egbert Germain should be taking a very stiff drink on that news. Naneee? Peeve? Mahzeh-mahwee or Must Cover anyone?   . He molded us into whom we are today. Keep on moving Doc and continue to let god be your captain.

Assertive like the rod of Moses!

It is not all about coming back but how will you be received in your field. He should have a heart to heart with Sam Christian to know if he can handle how the government work.

A famous Rabbi of whose teachings I am a student, and who I call Lord. said

*A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and among his own people.*

The doctor will not be without honor but it should be much greater.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

Doe what a negative person you are, maybe you have no children or relatives. This do not mean he is not concern about his country. Ask your Government what happened during storm Erika.
Congratulations Doctor Dangleben reach for the sky.

To Deo, again Doctor Dale did met with Skerro on a flight once , and asked him permission to practice at the hospital for free, he even had plans to bring a team of American, and other Caribbean born Doctors who live in the states to come to Dominica to practice fore a period of three months at a time for free and skerrit said no , and refer him to his health minister, and they never get back to him , so again do your research .

  8. March 27, 2017

To the person who call them self Deo don’t hate, participate go to school and become a doctor starting from nothing coming from poor parents from a small village in Dominica , for your information he has been contributing to Dominica for years when ever there is a disaster he is the first on the front line to send medical supplies, to D.A. there was a time when he send supplies to DA. and it stayed in customs for months his mom made several calls to customs before they release the items to the P. M.H , so he has been contributing to his people , do your research before you open your big mouth , he is a true Dominican , you are a very hateful person , who knows maybe one day he will be the one to safe your life, while your prime minister has to go to the USA so his wife can have his baby.

  9. March 27, 2017

Congrats on your achievements , the entire Dominican family are with you , especially the village of pte Michel , hope you will be able to share your knowledge and skills with us when the new hospital is completed , I know with your experience and the right tools you will safe a lot of lives in Dominica if your are given the opportunity to serve and give back to your people, so on behalf of the people of D.A. thank you .

It is truly inspiring to know that Dr. Dangleben is a doctor and has further published multiple surgery textbooks. Though it may not seem like it, migrating to other countries such as the US can present many challenges, not the least of which is getting accustomed to a new country and learning how to survive and thrive in that environment. Dr. Dangleben’s accomplishments are a wonderful example to the youths that with hard work and persistence one can become highly accomplished. Congratulations Dr. Dangleben.

Or the government of Dominica should create an atmosphere that attracts talented Dominicans like this doctor to come back home. Yes we do all care that this man is representing Dominica well.

I do not agree with you “Doe”. We should recognize excellence wherever it exists and if a Dominican is involved or is starring, congratulations are in order. My view. Dale created a political hysteria here whenhe visited some time ago by publishing certain pictures he took of the PMH giving a terrible impression of our health service. He was entirely misled and misinformed. But he was playing his partisan politics. That however does not take away from his personal accomplishments. Congratulations Sir! keep heading for the skies. Arthur Dangleben must be a very proud father.

You are clearly a very uninformed person. I am not sure you realize that the economy of Dominica would collapse within 6 months if remittances from diaspora Dominicans were to cease. I am so sick of hearing people bash hard working Dominicans overseas – the very people whose foreign earning make life tolerable on the island for people like you. Further, Diaspora Dominicans would return in droves to make both short term and long term contributions if they were not constantly stymied in their efforts by jealous and insecure locals – including those in govt. leadership. You need to get informed about real life and what DA needs to progress.

    • March 27, 2017

The Doc is not living in Dominica :?:

What does that have to do with the fact that he has published three medical books for the benefit of his people :?: I expect people are taking note of this around the world.

You would have to be blind to not realize how Dr. Dangleben has contributed to Dominica.

It has already been mentioned that his accomplishments will encourage Dominican young people. Let them know it can be done and reach for the sky.

      Congratulations Dr. Dangleben :!:

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

    • March 27, 2017

Do you think this is he only way they can make a difference :?:

You have no idea how much some Dominicans in the Disaspora send home to help family and friends. Many of them are very good people.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
