An eight man team from DOMLEC left the island on Thursday, September 14th to assist the restoration efforts in hurricane- stricken Anguilla.
This assistance has come following a request from the Association of Electric Utilities (CARILEC) based in St. Lucia. DOMLEC is a member of CARILEC.
The team comprised one engineer : Kimon Jno. Baptiste and seven well trained and experienced linesmen: Valjean O’Brien, Patrice Vache, Eddie Hunter, Judah Alexander, Shaniel O’garro, Francis Jevier and Jan Isidore.
They are expected to be on that island for at least four weeks in the first instance, following which an assessment will be done to determine whether another team will be sent.
DOMLEC is proud of its linesmen knowing fully that whenever they are called upon to assist in these difficult times, they do so willingly and exhibit a high level of professionalism and commitment to the tasks at hand.
Earlier this week DOMLEC was able to provide relief supplies consisting mainly of water, dry goods and provisions to the Anguilla Electricity Services (ANGLEC) to assist them in being able to better provide for the employees who will be solely engaged in the restoration of power to the island.
Good stuff. Be safe
Best in the the Region! God speed!!!
Hurricane Irma has given to us a very good opportunity be fully integrated in all aspects and by the way Dominica was once part of the leeward islands
Hats off to the linesmen of DOMLEC! I say to you that you have proven yourselves as dedicated, hardworking and reliable over the years.
Proud of you guys. No better linesmen than those from Dominica. We train them tough! You will be true ambassadors for our country, trust me.
