Weather forecasters are keeping a close eye on a tropical wave accompanied by a weak area of low pressure located in the Central Atlantic.
The wave on Tuesday morning was located near 9°N 41°W, halfway between the Lesser Antilles and the coast of Africa, and it has the potential to gain sufficient structure to become a tropical storm during the next few days, the forecasters say.
The system is moving westward at 10 – 15 mph and will reach the Lesser Antilles by the end of the week or the first part of the weekend.
Dominica News Online is keeping a close eye on this unfolding weather situation and will seek the input of the met office, to provide updates when they become available.
