The father of a young man who was killed in Castle Comfort several years ago says he wants justice for his son.
Joseph Pinard, whose son Dwayne Pinard was killed in 2008 allegedly by Yanik Lander, says he is frustrated over the slow pace at which the justice system has handled the matter.
“It is really frustrating because after three years for an investigation to be going on is really making no sense. My son died three years ago and this thing is lingering,” he said.
Pinard says he is frustrated because every time the matter comes up for trial, there is always a hurdle.
“We are almost half of the year. There is always some excuse on adjournment. The lawyers claim they cannot make it sometimes. Sometimes there is only one witness. I am tired of this and I want justice. It is frustrating me,” he said.
He pointed out that closure on the matter will finally put it to rest with his family.
“All I want is closure. I have never seen a murder case linger like that in my life. If they setting his accuser free then just set him free. If they jailing him jail him…I can’t take this anymore,” he said.

This murder case has 27 witnesses, Behanzin had only one witness left, to complete the matter. it is partly for his conviction of you know who in Tatane and the conviction of those nine Venezuelans drug traffickers, that he was removed from the Bench, since then no less than six people who he either denied bail or he sentences to prison have died on the streets in a violent manner, while Behanzin was forced out! You all leaving out the fact that both these kids were on drugs, to my knowledge when they did the autopsy the boy did not even have lining in his nose because he was snorting so much. Both these kids were on drugs, it could have just been the other way around. Do not condemn the young man he is not well. How about this young man…Yannick Lander. It is alleged that he killed his friend and now attempted to kill another. What is DOMINICA doing to help him.
My suggestion is that this young man should be tried and dealt with expeditiously. He should also be given an opportunity for reformation through serious counseling, especially if found guilty and sent to jail.
His violent tendencies make him a threat in Castle Comfort and DOMINICA by extension.

I am tired of people avoiding action on wrong things and leaving it to God in the name of Christianity. Yes God is in control but he gave us dominion over the Earth. We are the ones to stand up for what should be done right and not always hide behind prayers and words of sympathy as the churches taught the slaves to do during slavery days to keep the slaves quiet. Supporting Johnny and Beverly is not just running our mouth and praying for him but to write or phone a thousand times and one thousand protest letters asking for justice. I appeared in court 23 times on a burglary matter just to get a new date to return and never got to hear that case called the guy was on bail he was supposed to report to the police station but he escape to Guada that nonesence about reporting to police station is a foolishness after the first couple weeks police cant be bothered whether u report or not all people who kill should stay in jail until case call a large number of offenders on bail committing serious crime it is so common these days when will these Magistrate learn.

It is quite surprising how unfair the justice system is here in Dominica but the hand of the Lord will surely prevail. What is even worse is that the ‘alleged murderer’ whilst out on bail, attempted to murder another young man in the Castle Comfort area on Tuesday, March 20th…. What is the justice system waiting for? Are they waiting until he has wiped out all the young men in Castle Comfort? We want his bail revoked so we can feel safe in the Castle Comfort area. He is a menace to society.

I was thinking the same thing, recently. Dwayne was a friend of mine and it hurts every time I think about his sad, unnecessary end. He had quite a bit of friends and we’re all just walking around with heavy hearts. Hang in there, Daddy Pinard. God feels strongly about innocent blood being shed.

The Killer should be dealt with accordingly.. He attack a young man for No reason during the week. Then His parents are saying he didnt take his medication.
