Democracy is amongst humanity’s greatest inventions, this is due to the fact that Democracy, a political concept created by the ancient Athenians was the first idea that placed the ruling power in the hands of the people.

In “Democracy’s Hypocrisies” (published by Xlibris), Dominican and former student of the Dominica Grammar School (DGS), J.J. Joseph, writes a truly eye-opening look at the concept of democracy and its effects on present-day politics.

“Democracy’s Hypocrisies” essentially reveals the incremental erosions on traditional democracy due to concerted efforts by a small segment of society. It also exposes the shift of the electorate due to the change in demographics over the past 20 years. According to the book, this change is also the catalyst largely responsible for President Obama’s overwhelming victory in the last two elections.

This book tackles a myriad of social and political issues that concern democracy and its effects on society in general. “Democracy’s Hypocrisies” is a must read for anyone concerned with today’s political atmosphere.

J.J. Joseph’s Democracy’s Hypocrisies emanated in part from President Obama’s utter adversities since procurement of the office of commander in chief, but largely due to desperate attempts by a small segment of society to displace the power of the people’s vote with that of their positions of enormous wealth. Numerous social issues are addressed, with the intent to uncover the hypocrisies, which have eroded traditional democracy as we know it.

Hopefully, the reader will, upon completion of this book, find the revelations both informative and enlightening.

J.J. Joseph has worked as a police officer, an Accountant and a Real Estate Broker.

A graduate of Bernard Baruch College of Business in New York City, he has always had aspirations of becoming an accomplished writer. The former Dominica Grammar School student has also entertained ambitions of writing a political novel.

His dreams were finally realized when his inspirations to write Democracy’s Hypocrisies finally emanated from recent developments in the last two general elections. J. J. Joseph has demonstrated his versatility in genres by also having published suspense thrillers in the likes of Money Misery and Murder and Friends with Deficits.

The book will be officially launched on July 31 but is available at www.xlibirs.com or at Barnes and Nobles.

A former PSS student wrote a book about democracy yet he is involved in a conspiracy to rig our election. There is concrete evidence to support this statement. Email evidence available on request.
I guess that is the kind of hypocrisy we are talking about.

Tony and Skerrit on a mission to denigrate the IPO… and Linton only to find out that it was not Linton nor the IPO.. and the police, DNO, Priests, even the members of the IPO…. is afraid to talk.

Democracy is a combination of communism (nationally owned utilities, ports, military and police), Dictatorship (usually/mandatory only two main political parties are considered relevant to compete for votes) and Capitalism decisions, ideas, concepts, rights, laws and politics are determined primarily for the gain of profit to individuals, the corporations and or the government.

In which university you learned that? Oh, and is there a difference between ‘communism’ and ‘dictatorship’?
      Enlighten me please.

Well you should go to university, because communism and dictatorship are not the same thing. Go do some reading, chop chop… educate yourself.

    Congratulations J.J. Joseph,

I hope you researched your island home in writing this book because there is where you would have gotten all the real life examples of Democracy Hypocrisies from.

Please come back home to get information for the political Novel you are planning to write. Our situation here at home will really make a good novel

I agree. Here’s a suggestion for the title of the novel – ‘Costitutional Constipations’

Don’t blame him, he is a young voter as his name suggests. He knows nothing about politics but what is said on Q95.
