IN PICTURES: Catching the ‘supermoon’ lunar eclipse

IMG_4201

On Sunday evening Dominicans joined millions around the world in witnessing a rare celestial event, a supermoon lunar eclipse.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon appears darkened as it passes into the earth’s shadow but what made Sunday’s event even more spectucular was that it took place when the moon was at its closest point in its orbit around the earth, making it appear 14 times larger and 30 times brighter than usual, hence the term “supermoon.”

Supermoon lunar eclipse are rare. The last one took place in 1982 and the other one is set for 2033, so for many it could a once in a lifetime event.

See photos below of the different phases of the eclipse.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the LORD shall come. And it shall be, that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Acts 2:20,21. NASB)

It has happened before. And yes, there is a scientific explanation. So no big deal, right? Wrong :!: The “sign” is not the event itself. It is the timing of it. It is not the blood moon alone but many other things foretold in the Holy Scriptures. When we see these unusual events happening in rapid succession in the heavens and upon the earth it is a sign the present age is drawing to a close, and God’s day will soon begin! Jesus said “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” (Matthew 24:33) Then Jesus said “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:44)

My friend, are you ready :?:

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

The entire sky did not get red on our end (In Dominica) at that time. I was up and looking at it the whole time.
The sky was clear of clouds and the stars were bright and the moon shown beautifully.
