With the Hurricane Season already started, residents of La Plaine are taking no chances.
Last Saturday, the La Plaine Disaster Preparedness Committee set its plan in motion for the season.
Under the leadership of chairman, Jason Fontaine, residents of the community got together to cut down trees and branches which may pose a threat during a hurricane.
“Without a perfect plan, there is no perfect recovery,” Fontaine said.
He said more activities are planned in the coming weeks.

Great job!
Great job! Keep the community spirit alive…..By the way, is it Ron that’s hiding behind Jason in pic #9?
Typical Laplaine people… always thinking ahead and working together.
That’s it guys. A Proactive Committee. Let the Domino effect swirl through out other Communities.
Being Proactiv! I like that…Good job guys. Lol @ the guy who took the selfie.
NICE TO SEE MY PEOPLE DOING GREAT THINGS.GOOD TO KNOW THAT JASON IS DOING GOOD THINGS
That is what I call leadership. Someone is looking ahead and planning for the future.
These are my kind of people. Great job guys. I hope you will serve an inspiration to others.
YOU GUYS DONT NEED TO CUT DOWN THE ENTIRE TREES,TRIMMING IS BETTER,THE TREES ALSO SERVE AS PROTECTOR OF WIND.
What about the trees overhanging in Citronier/Loubiere (lala coco/voice of life ) and all the other areas? Those where DOMLEC lines are in between and mangoes breaking vehicles windscreen. Who has to take care of those?
Jahpolice you read but you don’t understand. La Plaine residents are taking care of their community…Are you suggesting they should go and take care of Citronier/Loubiere and all the other areas you are thinking of?
Form a disaster committee to take care of the community what happen you want Laplaine people to come do your work for you.
