IN PICTURES: Road near Tarreau cleared

A section of roadway near Tarreau which was affected by heavy rainfall on Friday morning has been cleared.

Dominica is experiencing rainfall due to a trough system which is affecting the area.

A flood warning has been issued for the island until 6:00 pm.

    The Chinese opened up the sharp corner a few yards lower down. Looking at this photo, why not continue and cut a new path right through the mountain, thereby creating a straight path and eliminate the corner altogether.

    I don’t understand, why this cliff area was never shelved. This would prevent the government from recurring expenses along this portion of roadway.

      Why do you not advise the government about that? Those who are responsible for maintaining this area may not know that. Each one should teach one.

        A laudable suggestion, but those of us following that approach find our that our advice is seldom acknowledged, let alone given consideration.

        At ministerial level, I give Senator Blanchard credit for being an exception to the rule.
