IN PICTURES: West Indies vs Pakistan

Fans of the West Indies may not have gotten the result they wished for in West Indies/Pakistan Test match, but that did not deter the thousands of Dominicans who showed up from having a great time at the match.

The Test took place between Wednesday and Sunday with Pakistan emerging as the winner.

See photos below taken on Sunday.

Don’t forget that is Skerro who brought the stadium. I live in Dominica and did not go to the test match because of how West indies is performing these days – now years. The size of the crowd has nothing to do with Skerro. Have you been following the West indies in other parts of the Caribbean. our crowd was big compared to the other crowds in Barbados, Jamaica etc. You did not say where you were looking from. I suspect you may be in the diaspora and have not been home to see your friends and acquaintances for a while yet. Perhaps you should come home more often to see the folks you were looking for. You should not be waiting for a cricket game to look for your country people. I want to believe that you do not owe social security or income tax etc. so you are free to return anytime. Dominica is still a very beautiful place to live and work. And you do not have to beleive me. Just prove me wrong with fact and figures. No “fake news or alternative facts” eh!!!!!

Dominicans (still) love their cricket. It is a great sport.
Pakistan won. Good to see that it did not dampen your enthusiasm, enjoyment and the after effects. This is the spirit in which to view a game and to support and encourage your favorite team. I always say only one can win.
West Indies, you have done your utmost. All is fair. Better luck next time.

While my comment is NOT for any political reason whatsoever, I must say that I too was surprised that in all these pictures and even watching throughout the match I was unable to identify any Dominican that I know – not even those who I may not be friends with but whose faces are familiar – AND I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE. And I only left home less than five (5) years ago.

I was commenting to my wife how mildly surprised I was to not identify anyone – except Ambassador Nanthan and the players – even the Pakistani Players. A little discomfiting. 8-O :-?
