Kiwanis Club of Roseau assists in Erika recovery

Almost two months after Tropical Storm Erica, service clubs continue to show a determined, dedicated effort in alleviating the plight of storm victims.

Kiwanis clubs throughout the Caribbean have been consistently sending relief supplies to Kiwanis of Roseau for distribution. Kiwanis of Guadeloupe has sent food and water specifically for schools.

To date, Dominica State College, Goodwill Primary and Convent Prep have already received their contributions.

A sisterhood of clubs from St Lucia, Barbados, Martinique and Antigua, has also contributed items that provided relief to communities such as Campbell and Coulibistrie as well as the Senior Citizens Home in Mahaut.

With the generous supplies coming into Dominica from clubs across the Caribbean, Kiwanis of Roseau has made it a club-mandate to visit a different affected community every week, in order to distribute to those in need and still reeling from the after effects.

Members of Kiwanis internationally and locally, are deeply touched by the resilience and fortitude of Dominicans and are honored to assist in any small way in the rebuilding lives and personal dignity.
