Due to the pending closure of several airports in the LIAT network there could be further disruptions to LIAT’s schedule. Any additional affected flights will be published in a subsequent advisory.
Passengers travelling on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are asked to check the LIAT website (www.liat.com), and the LIAT Facebook and Twitter Pages for information on the status of their flights. Please note that the LIAT Call Centre will be closed on Monday, August 24. Regular office hours for the Call Centre are 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday to Saturday and from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday and Public Holidays.
Customers affected by the disruptions who wish to rebook for a later date will be allowed to do so without change fees or fare differences for a period of two weeks from the date of their original scheduled travel. Following the two-week grace period, passengers will be required to pay applicable fare and change fees when re-booking.
LIAT also wishes to advise that passengers who decide to travel but are unable to complete their journey due to disruption caused by weather conditions, will not be provided with meals, transportation, hotel accommodation etc. Passengers with onward connections are advised to contact the respective carriers.
LIAT regrets any inconvenience caused as a result of the passage of the storm.
Thank you LIAT for the update. Safety is always first.
Why cancel Sunday and Monday to San Juan? Danny, or what’s left of it, will not reach PR until Tuesday afternoon. Any chance the Tuesday morning flight DOM TO SJU will get restored?
I do not

This is how you take care of customers during a storm, you give them the option to cancel their flight on that day of the storm for free, the customers may decide on their own if they want to fly depending on their situation, also you stated that if there is a delay you are not taking responsibility for that either leaving customers who cannot fly on that day with no option but to pay those “extra fees”. Horrible
You make me laugh, if the flight is being cancelled it is on you to call the the Airlinés Call Center to reebook of confirm your travel on a date of your choice. Plus LIAT would have records of you in the system to acommodate you on a space available flight to your destination. Give you the option to cancel and their is a storm in the region???????? lol Cancel your booking and you’ll be paying for a new flight on any carrier. Dominicans have to learn to read the FINE PRINT before we make fools of ourselves at LIAT COUNTERS.
Read Liat policy and compare to other Caribbean airlines affected by the storm

“Rescheduling Flights
If your flight is cancelled or significantly delayed, you are entitled to a refund. Even if your flight is not cancelled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without any change fees if you are schedule to travel as follows. For all ticketed passengers to and from the following locations:”
GIVE ME THE OPTION TO CANCEL FOR FREE LIAT!, people had to change their plans to and from their destination because of the storm…
Not to mention it costs WAY MORE to rebook on liat than the other carriers, the penatly fee is much higher.
400USD compared to 75USD….
Liat just like to steal money for their horrible customer service.
Unbelievable LIAT! Today is Friday and the impending storm is for Monday and LIAT is already cancelling? What if it is no longer a threat by Saturday evening? While I believe safety ought to be top priority, this one is not safety but rather confirmation of how unreliable they are. To better understand how unreliable and backward they, one just need to read Seaborne’s advisory posted on DNO, concerning this same storm. Here is the link https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/news/general/seaborne-airlines-announcement-regarding-hurricane-danny/. It’s foolishness like this that often have to wonder what was in the mind of Skerrit when he spent so much money to build night landing for them and further gave them over $8 million.
this comment^^ right up here is why we are all glad you are not in charge. Safety must always be first. always. let me repeat ALWAYS!

Whats your point? Same time. One is on this news page the other is on the airlines website. Troll!
You are just an idiot…u are talking about securing multi million dollar equipment here..an airplane is not a bicycle u can just hide under a house…the have to plan..to break it down for u they have to fly those aircraft to a country not in the path of the storm…crew has to be relocated..those flight crew have property the have to secure so they need time to do that .. It shows that liat is putting ur safety first although it seems u have no regard for ur own safety given ur comment…get an English dictionary and look up the word planning…
