Man’s mysterious action baffles passers by

The building block was left in the vehicle
The building block was left in the vehicle

Pedestrians and passers by in Roseau were left baffled last week when a man walked up to a vehicle parked on Great George Street and flung a building block through the window, shattering the glass.

The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Friday.

After performing his inexplicable deed, the man calmly walked away, leaving the block inside the vehicle.

A woman who witnessed the incident told DNO the sound of the breaking glass frightened her and she strongly believes that the man is of sound mind and is not crazy or “a paro.”

Others were left in shock at the brazenness of the unidentified man, while others could not believe that he was so calm after performing the act.

“He just walked away, he never ran,” an eyewitness said.

Hello and good afternoon my people. We must used logic in this type of incidents because I am certain there is more to this story. I can only assume that the driver probably almost hit the person when he had the right of way in the crosswalk or the intersection. He then watched the person park and then throw the block through the window as a lesson to the driver. It’s still a crime of Criminal Mischief which don’t make it right.

I guess you have never owned anything of value in your life. I always say I would prefer someone hate me over being jealous of me. Almost hitting someone is nowhere close to hitting someone. I hope they took a pic of him when he was walking away. Everyone these days have picture phone.

      • January 29, 2015

        To Marguerite.

Hello and good evening my people. I said its a crime and the perpetrator should be arrested and successfully prosecuted and then sent to prison for a year. Now thing don’t just happen out of the blue therefore we should assume that there was something which caused him to brake to window. Also you said I never owned anything of value, well I tell you part of what I own. I own a home in New York, a home in St Thomas and am building another in Dominica. I also own four vehicles including a 2014 Mercedes Benz ML 350.

I expect the police will interview the car owner, his next of kin, and (if possible) a gfew of his fellow workers to see if he has an enemy or enemies.

Who ever saw the crime take place may be valuable as a witness in identifying the person.

    A few possibilities:

    1) The man had a personal vendetta.

    2) The man is mentally ill.

    3) The man was drunk.

    4) The man was high on drugs.

    5) The man was demon possessed.

It is not unusual to find a combination of any of he above.

All human beings in their unregenerated condition are capable of any crime. We need Christ by His Holy Spirit to enter our hearts and give us the new birth. He is the savior and healer of all who put their trust in Him.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist. (Former licensed Private investigator)

From a psychological point of view, I believe he is mentally ill. If not, it could be a personal vendetta; nevertheless, if it is a vendetta, he would not calmly walk away as if nothing happened, and that is unless he is a career criminal who knows what the inside of a jail looks like.

Then again there are people who commits crimes in order to get caught and put in jail where they know they will be feed. When I was a kid I knew someone from the Village of Marigot who would ensure he committed a crime somewhere near the end of November, he did his thing in open, and at one time I saw him went into a shop, and simple scaled the counter, took a pint of soft drink and drank it, and told the owner, he can call the police. I will not say his name, but I was told by a relative of his who sings in my brother band he is yet alive. The man might be in his eighties now. The reason he desired to go to jail every December, to enjoy the food served at Christmas, he loved pork meat that was his…

Something is wrong with that man who was bold enough to do something like that. Did those who witnessed it not have a phone which could have taken a picture of the man to give to the police so that he could have been identified?

What the hell is going on? That is the state of lawlessness going on in the country?. I wonder what the reason for the side windows of a passenger bus and a escudo jeep being similarly maliciously damaged on the river side apartments area the same evening? Too much crime and too little law enforcement. Whatever the motive for these crimes, the police must act swiftly to avoid this type of terrorism lest we begin to practice the law of the jungle to get justice.

“He just walked away, he never ran,” an eyewitness said.”

I do not find anything baffling about that; it might be a personal vendetta, something as a grudge held against the owner. The person might be mentally ill, we do not know what influence his mind. Twice people shoot into my house, I called the police, and wondered if I am targeted for assassination.

Haahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. The police told me the culprit probably does not even know who lives in my house, all they wanted to do was shoot through a house, and could careless who are the occupants. Sunday last there were two such incidents, where there were two separate shooting into homes, the bullet grazing two small children in bed sleeping in each house, one narrowly escaped death when his blanket slowed the bullet down, saving his life, the other was grazed also. All of that is the work of the devil!

Don’t be foolish: tell me where in America anyone can find a neighborhood to reside in without crime? Beverly Hills is not to far away from my home, Hollywood is also walking distance from my home, Culver City where you find Paramount, and Sonny movie studios are less than five miles from my home. Santa Monica, Venice Beach they all are in the vicinity of where I live, nevertheless, people gets killed in those areas, though they are considered class places to live.

Pasadena is another well up to date place, where the smallest house will cost over seven hundred thousand dollars, I told you Saturday two children almost got shut while in bed. If People invades the
White House with all the security around the president, where in America can be immune to crime?

      • Francisco Telemaque
        January 28, 2015

You see you people believe in so much they say, and the crap you all see on television you believe that America is a bed of roses, I do not live in a high crime area, and do what if I did? One could be driving on a freeway, some idiot will stand on an overpass above the Freeway, and drop a bolder through your windshield, people got killed that in the past.

In that case if you lived in America, you would have to live under a rock or a hole in the ground where no one can see you, if you wish to live somewhere free of crime. You would not shopping for grocery, cloth, nor going to church or work school, to a hospital, nor to any place of entertainment, Criminals has no special place to commit crimes, so you can go ahead talking crap!

Something I find very common among these Dominicans living abroad, always trying to glorify themselves and/or other people’s countries. Most of them HUSSLING HARD and will NEVER be considered a true citizen of places such as USA and the UK.

All of a sudden they turn bright and talking a whole bunch majee!!

Is this house shooting story true.

What is the citizen to do. Practicalities notwithstanding, would a citizen or two been justified in detaining the brick thrower to have him explain himself to the authorities.

    • The Facts
      January 27, 2015

Yesterday, I heard on the Toronto News about the shooting into one of the homes when the baby’s blanket slowed the bullet. I wonder why would someone do something like that? Was the home targeted?
This is not the first time I have heard of such a shooting where people died. More than once this has also occurred in Canada.
Some homes have light see-through drapes. I am speculating this could be one of the reasons why passers-by who are criminals would be tempted to something as that.
In this age, with increased criminality, people must be careful about having drapes that those on the outside can see through.

I do not live in Englewood Tony, I reside in Los Angeles, I also own a home in the city of Corona, I own rental properties in the city of Hawthorn adjacent to Englewood, I also owners rental property in the city of Los Angeles where I spend most of my time, you do not know where live so do not even pretend Tony!

You know the trouble with “wee’s” is that we like to assume things: Dr. Jonathan Prevost, MD., and I are colleges, one time he had a Dominica friend who came here on vacation, he gave the guy and his wife my number to call me, they did, I went to pick them up and brought them to my home. I took them out to eat, all of a sudden the guy said you can take me anywhere except South Central Los Angeles, I ask him why? He told me well, before I came here “they told me if I go there I will get killed.” I then said to him you have been there several times for the day,he became dumbfounded because what he was seeing is nothing to what he heard. Food for taught!

No wonder this country is as it is! lol LMAO too.Is this news? The man was angry and took his stress out on the person who may have offended him. he may have been convinced this was the best most feasible way to harm his offender. Nothing Classical about that. What is baffling there? Give me a break.

    • January 28, 2015

It is the responsibility of the police to investigate. To determine the reason for the act is part of the investigation. It should not seem strange that people want to know the cause of such behavior.

Knowing why he did it will help discover if he acted alone or if somebody else was involved. For all anybody knows at this time it may have been group related even if it does not appear that way.

Knowing why he did it may have a bearing on the sentence.

Knowing why he did it may determine what can be done to help the man if indeed he can be treated.

Knowing why he did it may prevent it from happening again either with him or another person.

To say he was angry and venting his rage is irresponsible without knowing the man and his circumstances. It is also simplistic given all the alternatives.

So yes, the reason or cause is a big deal!

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

Not surprising. He could have been mad for five minutes. Or a Paro for two minutes. no one knows lets investigate and get to the bottom of why he did what he did. But your point is respected.
