Dwight Bedminister, from the village of Marigot has reportedly gone missing at sea after the boat which he and two other males were traveling on experienced some issues.
According to Police PRO, Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, the men left the Marigot fisheries complex at around 7:30 am on Thursday 16th February 2017 on an open keel boat.
He said about 25 miles out into the sea, the propeller of the boat got damaged and all control of the boat was lost and a result Bedminister fell into the sea.
The two other occupants of the boat stated that he sustained an injury and sank down beneath the waves.
The Coast Guard and fisher folk of Marigot were alerted and a search was conducted, but efforts proved futile.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, Jno Baptiste said.
My dear brother Adrien, Claire,Dwight’s wife and the entire Bedminster and
Robin family. My heart is bleeding on the loss of my nephew. It pains me to
Know that I will never see Dwight again. No words can really express how I
Feel. A real unfortunate tragedy to befall such a young promising man and
His young family. Julie I know how Dwight loved you. Please keep
Holding on to God’s hand. He is the only one who can see you through.
Claire I know that you are a woman of faith, you are going to need more of that during
This time. We love you all and will remain in prayer for our family. May the peace
Of God fill your hearts and take place of all the negative
assumptions that is going around.
“He sustained an injury” said the other two. Just in case he is found with a hole in his head? Story not sounding right.
RIP young man.
Pray, lets all Pray for the family.
The two other male have something to say!! how the man fall of the boat and the two other’s are safe. They no something…
Freaky fatal accidents do happen guys. Let’s take the story for what it is right now while these beautiful family grieve. Fowl play or not, there is no body. Let’s just pray for this family.
So many of this things has been happening and the police dismiss those incidents as truth , I don’t think that was an accident that was murder , I smell a fish, so to speak, they should be arrested, and put the pressure on both so call survivors, and make them tell the truth.
Why did they go in the rough sea, so so sad . This story sound fishy but God knows the truth.
Very Sad Indeed…I sympathize with the family.
Every day I learn of individuals who have met an untimely death and have been taken from us. Whether it is on Canadian T.V. or DNO, or from some other source, it saddens me as I know it does you. We grieve because we know others are sorrowing, and their lives have been shattered at least for the time being.
As a pastor I am expected to be both caring and strong. I am called to the emerge in hospitals or to bedsides. Caring because people are expecting me to be there with the right words yet I am often without words or that is how I feel. Strong because now it is one of them but I know someday it will be a member of my own family. Pastors are expected to show up with a certain faith they can share and in some way impart.
I want to give people something in advance that will prepare them for whatever storm comes. I would like you to be ready because the testing day will come in your life and mine. *Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.* (Acts 16:31)
It means to BELIEVE Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for YOU! Yes, for YOU in a personal way. If YOU had been the only person in the world who needed a Savior He would had done it just for you. BELIEVE it, and receive Him a your Savior by calling upon Him in prayer, and asking Him to some into your heart and save you now. Listen to His on words:
*Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. if any man hears my voice, and opens the door , I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.* (Revelation 3:20)
At the hearts door the Savior is standing,
At the hearts door fast closed by sin.
At he hearts door the Savior is knocking,
Oh draw back the bolt and let Him in.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
At the hearts door fast closed by sin.

Thank you sir. my nephew was a believer and so are his wife and mom. I am also a believer and I know that death can touch our mortal bodies but not our spirits/souls. We just have to be ready for anything at anytime. We have to be in right standing with God.
Thank you for this reply.
I am so glad to learn that the young man was a believer along with his family.
Earth has no sorrow heaven cannot heal. My prayers continue for all involved.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
Dwight my boy not to long i saw you and we spoke. I will really miss you
Please God….Return him to safety #pray
That story is missing something. Read it carefully and tell me. “Propeller damage and someone fell into the sea?” What propeller problem has to do with one person falling into the sea? Ok, propeller damage, so that means boat ain’t going jack. So the “fall guy” should’t have had no problem getting back into the boat. Got it? Foul play 4 sure.
thought the same thing
It is my understanding that he was the one working on the engine, while in motion he fell off and the machine continue to run. Most likely there was an impact by the machine. Seem like the winds were Ali high over there. Fatal accident if you ask me.
Clunda, I grew up in a fishing Village, know quite a bit about boats and a little less about engines; but something is wrong with that story. Let us assume he was trying to fix the engine, slipped and fell whilst the engine was running; what part of that engine would hurt him so badly that he could not get back in that boat with the help of two other persons, and sunk beneath the waves. There must be more to this.
wha happen? a fish bite him? Hmmmm
Sad News Indeed!!
How sad! My prayers are with the entire family. Sister Claire be strong regardless of the out come. This story sure does not add up and I hope is the usual poor reporting of this current PRO. Based on his story I am left with many questions. Hope we get a clearer picture later. But please remain strong mom, dad, wife, children, brother and sisters. We are praying for you all
My Uncle Elwin Bedminster was a police officer in Marigot for a long time. I wonder I wonder if Dwight was his son. I,ve been away over seas for a long time so I,velost touch with relatives
Only family members who live through the loss of a loved one this way know the pain.
I join those who send condolences and will be praying for the family.
We do not know when or how our time will come. But according to the Bible – the word of God – it is possible to KNOW we are ready for that moment.
The gospel is defined for us in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (please read) It gives us this hope. It is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again as proof that God had accepted His sacrificial death as payment for our salvation. Please read Romans 1:16. We can KNOW we are saved NOW and ready to meet God in that day if we will believe this. Please read John 3:14,15, John 3:16, John 3:36. 1 John 5:13, Ephesians 2:8,9.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
How did he get injured? This story doesn\’t add up. Praying for all involved
This story doesnt make any sense
These people need to wear life jackets when they are out there on the open sea.
Oh my sad news cuz… if you are still out there they will fine you. But as for now my condolences to your wonderful wife and kids. I feel sorry. This is sad news indeed.
so sad my prayers are with his family.
Alas…
Something smell fishy like the ocean. In mu opinon more question needed
The propeller was damaged and he fell into the sea? How did the propeller get damaged 25 mile out in the ocean? Why did they not cut the engine and paddled to rescue him?
Something does not seem right with that story.
Investigate dat
That sounding fishy
Propeller got damaged, lost control, fell into ocean, got injured and sank.
Me personally i would jump after him and one can stay on the boat to row and control the boat.
