New ambassador to Cuba wants to strengthen relations

Matthew Walter is Dominica’s new ambassador to Cuba

Dominica’s new Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba is seeking to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Former Government Minister Matthew Walter has officially taken up the post as Dominica’s Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba.

Walter took up this new position during the month of June.

“I intend to work extremely hard, it is not a situation where you are going to develop a lackadaisical attitude…It is one of urgency, it is one of diligence where you have to ensure that you deliver in such a way that the country benefits, and I mean both countries, Cuba as well as Dominica, benefit from that kind of mutual relationship,” he told Kairi FM on the weekend.

Walter stated further that the development of the human resource is of vital importance not only to Dominica but to the entire world.

As such he expressed his gratitude to the Government of Cuba towards the development of Dominica’s human resource.

“I need to applaud and to laud Cuba for realizing that it has to develop its human resource and Cuba started that from inception…All the other resources depend on the human resource, because even though you have the material resource, even though you have the physical resource, the natural resources they cannot develop by themselves,” Walter said.

He said that Cuba has been first and foremost at the development of human resource in Dominica and it has done so quite effectively and efficiently.

Vince Henderson, Lauren Bannis, Mathew Walter and that guy in Venezuela, what do you all have in common? This is of course a rhetorical question , but I want Dominicans to look into these people similarities and tell me if they can bring any vital development to Dominica from their positions!
It is also clear that Skerrit want to clean house and appoint new people to run for next election, so he is sending them out in the pasture to retire.
St. Jean, Colin and Blackmore said they are not going anywhere but lets see if they are men of their words when the times comes, or if they are going to walk out on Skerro.
Dominicans take control of what we have left before DLP take it and run away.

It cannot be in the best interest of any country for its diplomatic missions to be regarded as a pasture to send unwanted nuisances or reward political friends. Diplomacy, as has been pointed out elsewhere, is a vital tool for small countries and its BEST brains should be appointed to its service.
Caribbean governments are in danger of weakening still further their diplomatic capacity, endangering its effectiveness, and imperiling their countries maneuverability in a harsh world. Industrialized countries/nations have several instruments on which to draw in their relations with other countries. Among these are military might, economic clout and diplomatic capacity
All CARICOM countries are today confronted with financial challenges. Their unemployment levels has risen so too has their debt prices for many of the commodities on the world market have declined; receipts from tourism have fallen and their terms of trade has worsened.
I hope you will succeed, sir.
    HOTEP!

Mr walter the best thing for you to do to strengthen the relationship is to find out why this Cuban ambassador is sending the Cuban doctors home, shortening their stay for no reason. make a survey at the PMH. each ward, each department has someone leaving. these are good experience people. this ambassador is enjoying this moment.

Is not Cuba who wants to strengthen relations! Toneh! Is Skearat who continues to drag Dominica into his Communist mess. But Dominicans must have taken an overdose of sleeping pills, or what? Why not Canada? Or Israel? I would love for us to have this relations with these two places. Want to swim in the sea of Galilee. I want to walk where my Savior walked; not where Dictators walk.

Well I am sure you walk in marigot and morn Daniel already. So u actually walk where your saviour walked.

Because by the word used by you (SKERRAT) alone speaks of low disrespectful and classless you are. That is the type of used by your saviour.

But thanks God it is your saviour and not the saviour in heaven.

And yes we took sleeping pills. Because we are very comfortable with the driver of Dominicas vehicle. This is why we can sleep while he drives. If it was a drive like what we got from 12th of June 1995 31st of January 2000 we certainly would not sleep.

So congratulation to H.E Mathew J Walters on your new appointment as we renew our commitment for the mutual interest and respect of two countries. May God guide you and you family as you take up you new mantle.

Matthew, go and enjoy your retirement in Cuba garcon. All dem other Ambassadors from the Eastern Caribbean cannot get a thing done, you who could not run a Ministry of Community Development think you can accomplish anything in Cuba?
What a shame, with so many Cuban graduates around the place, Matthew Walter they choose to be Ambassador? What happen to Charles Corbette?
    Job for the boys!
