The police have said there is no change in status in relations to investigations into an alleged attack on a homeless man in Roseau recently.
Andy Carbon was reportedly burnt with hot water outside a restaurant and social media has been ablaze with information that a person has been arrested in the matter.
However, on Thursday morning the police said the status in the investigation remains the same as previously reported.
Last week the police had only said they had a suspect in the matter while investigations continue.
But DNO has been reliably informed that one person was arrested in the matter and is expected to appear in court on Friday.
The incident has sparked outrage across Dominica at the manner in which the less fortunate are being treated.
Justice Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore, expressed deep condemnation over the manner in which vagrants are being treated and MP for Roseau Central, Joseph Isaac, called on the police to “aggressively investigate and prosecute whoever committed the act.”
Eveyone “Thumbs downed” my comment when i said no one cared about Andy Carbon but was just using his misfortune as a platform for their own gain. but GUESS WHO I SAW AT 7-11 THIS MORNING July 7th
“We will not throw You under the Bus!”
Everyone should boycott that restautants (Roseau and Melvillehall)
I agree not only that it should be shut down.
the only place black people are free is the Caribbean and Africa ……….
That is so ironic because most of them want to leave for the U.S.A, respectively Europe. Why is that?
Africa is a cruel unforgiving place , most people are ruled by corrupt despots, who live a life of riley , while the rest of the population lives in abject poverty .Why is it that at no refugees wish to settle there ,because there are no handouts.

The charge should be Grevious bodily harm. (GBH) no less. They might want to charge her for simple battery. He’ll no!! That’s GBH….
Throwing hot water caused bodily harm. It cannot be simple battery.
Anyone may become a vagrant due mental illness, stress, drug addiction or financial situation. They may or may not had a choice in current situation. But still they shouldn’t be treated in such conditions, highlighted in the article. Help them, not inflict scares and wounds upon them.
Somebody please tell me, at which restaurant did this incident happened? I would like to know.
orchard
i am never eat at this restaurant again ,
While you are boycotting get a safe place for Andy too cuz he was just hit by a vehicle. Boycott is just mouth talk, show you really care.
Andy will be looking for a butler real soon!
A birdie just fly by and whispered in my ear…”Andy’s homeless days are coming to an end”.
Zazi Muzi, as usual. Laughable country, ala
a joke dat man a.a cyah understand dat for long
The police doesn’t do there work. All they do is run woman all police station they go and they are not doing there work. Cabon uou need to do your job to many criminals is on the run. Mr pm what are doing ? The innocent are suffering and the criminals are on the run .please do something about it.
The status in the investigation remains the same? Are nationals being misled? It surely takes long to make an arrest and bring forth a charge.
Andy cannot speak for himself and does not have the capability to as much as lodge a complaint of also inhumane treatment and for pain and suffering.
We hope in time the investigation will be complete and someone or some people will be arrested and charged.
the justice minister has expressed deep concern over how vagrants are being treated…is this word vagrant a status?come on minister get of your backside and do something for the world, firstly, these are people who’s mental challenges needs to be understood, how they arrived at their conditions and how is the system helping them to live with their conditions,i say they should be housed to begin with, then medicated and feed, for umpting years the talk of clean up Roseau has been vocalized even in song, you must a heard the premier on the radio..how he gone clean Roseau,i am now 55 years old and ain’t seen that yet, real people do real things….enough talk in dominica minister
forreal
I believe the story refers to his mother who lives on high street. You have named everybody who should take responsibility for him except her. Does she have any responsibility in this?
Once your child is 18 it is considered an adult and you have no say or responsibility. Period. It is not what you may think or feel but what the law says.
If she is sane and capable, even though he is an adult, as a mother she should have some compassion for her son and do her utmost to take care of him that he does not go hungry and have to beg.
Furthermore, he could receive government assistance but he must be able to sign for it. If he can’t someone responsible could do so. If the mother is able she should take that responsibility.
His mother should take action
THE COUNTRY NICE BOY, the country nice!
I cannot believe that some of these comments about Andy Carbon are coming from persons who profess to be Christians ..besides are the statements factual or made up to support a particular position. There may be two or more wrongs .. the act of throwing hot water on Andy Carbon, the apparent inaction of the police up to today July 7 etc..It is intriguing that the DNO article identifies Andy Carbon and Joseph Isaac but no mention of where the incident occurred or the name of the person who threw the hot water..I call that very poor reporting..
It is called “sub judice” in legal parlance Doc. Even anything under a six your old judicial review is “sub judice”. I call it stonewalling and gross abuse of the legal process.
Wow. It appears that lying, stealing and cheating are the way of life in DA. Would you trust the police after today?
Some people in high, higher and highest places gets arrested in sigway (secret) and bailed immediately in the dark of night because they are connected to Dca\’s most high. You see, when the malaways there shouting Labar Kar Twayvaye they get thrown in police cells for dropping off people at Douglas Charles Airport when they have an H on their vehicle but does not have a cabal issued permit. The days of this vicious cabal and the Manicou Gang led by Comm. Otran (Very big ugly head) from enbar (under), Vielle Casse will surely pay.
Always Assertive!
With proper representation, Mr Carbon should be shopping for a home of his own, and enough to care for Himself for the rest of His life.
No justice for the poor and homeless in Dominica. I am sure the owner of the place is one of those so call it people. We all want justice for Andy and we need to boycott that place.
Are you all joking, no on has been arrested as yet, or is it because of all those involve?
Only in Dominica, what a disgraceful country, animals are being treated better than human beings on the piece of rock, time will tell on this island call dominica, there is a much greater justice above, those involved will one day surely pay for what they did to this young man, and remember that what goes around comes around, in a land where there is no justice there is no peace
Everyone wants justice for Andy but I bet you none of them gave him something to eat or drink or clean clothes to put on just plain politics
Is it that the police does not know where the restaurant is located? This is unbelievable!!!! I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM CARBON HIMSELF!!
NO CHANGE IN STATUS!!!!
Are the police really going to pursue this? Are they really serious? Other matters of much less importance they are very quick to act. But just remember what the GOOD BOOK says:
Psalm 83:2
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
What will it take and how long will it take to make an arrest or charge? I’m asking the police and authorities on this island, should we the people seek vigilante justice? It’s seems this is the way to go when we can’t get the justice we deserve !I wanna make my position clear, any time me or any member of my family or those closely related to me, including friends is being taken advantage of and the law enforcement officials or police and justice system fail us,i and we who are being affected, will do our own justice! We shall be operating in an underground fashion that none of us can be identified, you all better take this warning seriously, cause people will disappear !!!
Heaven only helps us when we help ourselves. Thats all I man will say
Always Assertive!
Reasoning,
Thanks very much because that’s what I had in mind to say, because to much in justice in this country, if any of my family member happens to be treated in like manner we will take revenge and this is to disappear some one so that we all will know what it is to suffer pain, I am making it clear that I am not killing no one, cause I’m no murder but some one will disappear fore a while and we will all be sorrowful
What are you saying or want to say? two wrongs cant make a right! the person or persons involve has just written part of there path of life and remember god is never asleep………..
God isn’t alarmed when we hit rock bottom. He made the rock.
-Baptist Minister
Another Gon Emmanuel case
The matter will be swept under the rug as usual and life goes on.
I dont understand why someone hasnt advised Andy to take a civil position. rather than seeking criminal charges.
Andy is a poor man. He does not have money for a lawyer. He does not know his way around.
What he needs is an advocate: somebody who will who will come along side and help.
It does not look like he is going to make any headway with criminal charges. He needs somebody who will initiate a civil position on his behalf. His chance of winning a civil case is good to excellent.
The police are stalling. It has been suggested that there is a reason for this. Is the person responsible for throwing hot water on this poor man known to the police or to somebody or persons in the Dominican government Is there an inordinate relationship here
The people want the person’s name AND they want to know why the police have not moved in a satisfactory way and given that information in an update.
People are talking now about vigilante justice. I don’t endorse that. But some say vigilante justice is better than no justice.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
andy is mental…. do you think he can make that decision.
Andy is waiting.
Will proper representation please step forward
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
I don’t know where DNO got its information from. According to the blob, Mas In the Cemetery, a prominent business woman and two employees from the restaurant whose name has been mentioned as regards to the incident concerning the homeless man, have been picked up by the police. The blog went on as far as to give the name of the alleged perpetrator.
ADMIN: As we said in the story, we get info from the police.
So you are saying Mas in the Cemetery, or what it is called, is a legitimate news source? Hahahahaha.
That blog is sensationalism central and cannot be relied on as a source for legitimate news.
Listen pal, I trust it more than the chronicle or Kairi. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! These two local media are used to hush up news, just like the Speaker hushing up the opposition but we getting more info. on the streets and from overseas making our so called local “journalists” look like pussycats and amateurs. Skerrit trying to control the press not going to work. It doing him more harm than good.
PS. I also learn from the same sources that Ma Deyer is supposed to be the lawyer representing the alleged suspect. I feel sorry for DNO because their hand are tied also because of legal threats at home.
It has to be a supporter of the Skeritt led DLP Government to accuse Mas In the Cemetery of not being reliable in its reporting. The only news outlet that regularly reports the news with documents to substantiate its reporting, especially concerning Skeritt and his Government.
MiC is right. The cops said that there is no change. The cops have not charged anyone but fir sure the cops did make a move
nice try
Has someone been charged or not? A website in the U.K alleges that a prominent businesswoman from Roseau was charged. Is that true or not? You guys were so quick to arrest a lady in the cemetery at her mother’s funeral the other d. Don’t tell me it is because of the person involved you acting differently!
Dominica is a beautiful country with beautiful people but it’s also a joke.
Beautiful on the outside maybe. Most Dominicans are a real piece of work.
You are so right!
Amen bro. That is why we are always having a laugh.
