Mable Moir James died at the ripe old age of 97. She was born on December 5th in Roseau, Dominica. She was married to Oliver James and bore 5 children – Thomas (Tommy), Stedman, Christobel, Clement (Clem), and Marion James. She had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. I am very privileged indeed to call myself her grand daughter. I like my brothers Chad and McArthur live in Canada. I truly wish that I could be there to share in paying my respects to a Great Lady, a humanitarian, and an early champion of women’s rights. Rest in Peace Ma James. Love, Sophina James.

My grandmother died at the ripe old age of 97. She leaves behind a great legacy for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a young boy I remember my grandmother being the life of the party, she truely was a kind and loving woman. Today, I sit at my desk in Ottawa, Canada wishing I could be at her funeral. God is great and he gave me the opportunity to see my grandmother 5 days before she died. I was in Dominica from Jan 8th to the 18th visiting family of course, with a mission for my 5 year old son to meet his great grandmother, which he did. However, it would be the last time my son or I would see her alive. I take great joy in remembering my grandmother, she lived a full and rewarding life and she will be missed dearly by all. After all of your rewarding and hard work granny, may you rest in peace. God Bless you and God Bless the James Family.
