Dominica’s Lady of Song, Ophelia Olivaccé Marie, has published her first book, HOPSCOTCH: Dominican Youth in Focus.
The publication contains 50 biographies of young persons involved in, and connected to, varying aspects of Dominica’s cultural expressions.
The writings first appeared as a series of articles published in the Dominica Sun Newspaper over a period of time.
Ophelia brings to the subject a sincere and caring eye towards the persons poised to take over the cultural development of the Dominican society and its cultural industries.
Trained in advanced youth work, Ophelia considers the book to be one way by which she can demonstrate support for the positive and uplifting activities of the youth of the nation.
The book expresses their hiccups and moments of frustration as they plod along and persist in successfully executing their craft.
In keeping with modern trends the author said HOPSCOTCH is available only on Amazon.com, and will soon be available on other online sites.

I have purchased a Kindle copy of the book and I would recommend that all you interested readers out there should buy a copy as soon as possible.
From the Foreword, Acknowledgement and the core chapters it is a compelling read.
Although I am in London and never met the subjects described in the book, I feel as if I actually know them and revere them. It is very positive and aspirational. I could go on but will allow you to experience the joy of reading this book.

If you have a smartphone running Android like samsung phones you can download the free kindle APP at Google play store or if you own an I-phone you can get the APP for free at the I-Tunes store.
