Panel Discussion on the Dominica Economy planned for Fort Young Hotel – this Friday Evening
As something of a “precursor/ build-up” to the major consultation on the country’s ability to pay higher salaries – with or without CBI funding – a special panel discussion for the public on the general subject of the Dominica economy has been arranged for Friday 21st April at 7:00 pm at the Fort Young Hotel. The general public is invited.
The panel (see below) includes Economists, Labour experts, and Business persons. Dubbed “The State of the Dominica Economy and a Prognosis for the Future” ” the table panel will draw particular reference to recent IMF and World Bank Reports, as well as other aspects involved, directly and indirectly, in the sometimes complex issue of salary negotiations.
The discussion is open to the general public, and is likely to spark lively debate given recent public pronouncements of the government and the unions representing its employees.
Panelists are:
Credit Union League Manager –
Mr P. Belfied (Chairperson)
Labour Commissioner (Mr. M. Leblanc)
Employers Federation Executive
Joshua Francis
Parry Bellot
Kurtis Augustus
Norman Rolle
this was really posted at 1:30 pm on the same day such an important event is happening with merely 6 hours ….WOW!
If Dominicans really want a serious discussion about the economy of Dominica, they should insist that Mr. Linton and Skeritt plus their economists meeting in a public panel discussion, anything else is a waste of time. Again that will never happen, Skeritt has shown, due to his refusal to debate Mr. Linton prior the general elections, the so-called novice would teach him a lesson he would never forget.
Should have included Dr Ike Douglas , Dr Fontaine ,Dr Valda Henry and Dr Clayton Shillingford
Is Fort Young the only place in Roseau capable of hosting such events? Everything is held at Fort Young. Why not use other facilities so that they can eat bread too?
Stop having such important discussions at HOTELS..You all know fully well that the ordinary bare foot man will not come to HOTEL, although he is the struggling man only barely surviving on RED CLINIC MONEY….Bring those discussion to the villages. That’s where the people feel the brunt of DLP imposed poverty…
SKERRIT MUST GO!!!
SKERRIT MUST GO!!!
SKERRIT MUST GO NOW!!!
Parry? What Mr. doing there?
