Peace Revolution Tour comes to Dominica

peace revolutionThe National Youth Council (NYC) is hosting a three-member delegation of the worldwide Peace Revolution who will coordinate meditation exercises with a number of volunteer groups and private sector associations on island.

The NYC have partnered with the Peace Revolution Organization, based in Thailand, to promote that initiative which is currently taking place in Dominica.

President of the NYC, Jahisiah Benoit, who was addressing a welcome ceremony held at the Girl Guides Association of Dominica’s office on High Street, Roseau earlier this week said peace is very important to the world and the approach of the organization in promoting peace is very unique.

“Not through political activism or any actions of the government, but really taking it to a personal level, focusing on introspection and meditation, finding peace within one’s self and off course resonating that peace towards your family and your community through meditation, which I think is a skill that many of us have not have the chance to fully develop,” he said.

According to him, at a time when the NYC is placing emphasis on mental health, “I think that techniques in mental health might be an asset to the youth in terms of finding inner peace and helping them to maintain a positive outlook on life stepping towards their own personal goals, of their families and their communities.”

Benoit hopes the participants will truly benefit from the training.

He also mentioned mental health as an emerging issue worldwide.

“We see that the global economic crisis is seriously affecting the job market, we see that mental health is an emerging issue. We see that domestic violence continues to be an issue and unfortunately child sexual abuse is still an unfortunate serge within our society,” Benoit stated. “And all of these things I think really affect deeply the individual…”

Benoit believes finding inner peace will improve people’s ability to deal with matters in terms of conflict resolution and particularly in respect to home-base violence and gender based violence.

“I think this meditation technique could be essential in encouraging the parents to do the responsible thing and take a step back from the conflict, meditate on it and return to the discussion with an amicable solution to it,” he noted.

The Peace Revolution is a worldwide initiative under the NGO World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI), which mission is to support the creation of a culture of peace through the promotion of meditation.

Peace Revolution strives to bring peace to the world by supporting individuals to find inner peace and sharing that peace with their families, friends and communities, hence the Slogan: Peace in, Peace out.

The best way we can assist this peace movement is by non-violent resistance to a government that violates civil liberties and does not respect the rule of law, foremost the constitution. Civil disobedience is an option to be considered. The hosts of the Peace Revolution must concur with this if they are to be sincere.

Really? What exactly is Mr. Benoit doing with NYC? Step down and let someone else take the helm.

A man said, “Before God healed him, he healed his heart.”
We commence with healing of the heart, removing all obstacles which will prohibit our healing.

Matthew 11:28-30 The Gentle Mastery of Christ – Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. “Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and My burden light.

I am the God your Healer.
    (Repeat)
You are the God that healeth me.
You are the Lord my Healer.
You sent Your Word and heal my disease.
You are the God my Healer.

The late US Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen had a radio program in bygone years. It is still broadcasted on EWTN – Eternal Word Television Network and also on EWTN Global Catholic Radio. He would always commence his programs with “Peace be to you.” He would end them with “God Love You.”
Meditating is fine. There are all sorts of medication. However, keep in mind Our Lord Jesus Christ told us, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” Do not ever think that you can do anything without Our Lord and asking him to be present in all what you do. For He said, “Where two or more are gathered in My Name, there I am in your midst and whatever you ask for, know that it will be granted.”
Remember the Peace Prayer – Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace. . .
Our Lord also told us: “My Peace I leave with you. My Peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be troubled. Neither be afraid. . .”
