When Christabel Cecil Royer nee George of Penville awakens on Thursday August 2, she will be Dominica’s newest centenarian.
Mrs. Royer was born in 1912 to Gillian Parillon and Richard George of Penville, the last of three children.
She attended the Vieille Case Primary School and was in 1948 married to Norbert Royer of Penville. She became a widow in 1989. She is the mother of three (3) children: Morris Audain, Martha Royer and Clement Royer. Mrs. Royer also has 14 grand children, 22 great grand children and 2 great-great grand children.
She spent most of her time working as a housewife and farmer and over the years enjoyed plaiting straws and making house brooms.
A thanksgiving mass for Mrs. Royer will be held from 2 p.m on Thursday August 2 at the Penville Catholic Church followed by a reception at Nevier’s Disco.
Dominica’s Acting President and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit will be among officials in attendance.

If this is a recent picture she looks extremely great. The natural foods and exercise contributed to that. No Kentucky fried chicken, chips and pizza. When are we going to learn from the good old days and follow the paths of our great ancestors?

Mrs. Royer, I wish you God’s blessing and continued life with health and strength. I am always happy to know about centenarians. I have longevity in my family. I certainly wished that everyone would be granted with longevity.
I know a few Royers and two Martha Royer’s. One is still alive and the other has since passed on -both in Canada. Obviously her in-laws. There must be a few more Martha Royers in Vieille Case. It is a popular Christian name.

For some reason i notice that majority of the centenarians are LEOS or LIONESS. This says that the longest living persons comes from the sign.Way to go ma ROYER.
