It is no wonder that at the age of 45, Dominica’s Tour Guide of the Year, Peter Green, is in the best shape of his life. And you don’t have to take his word for it. Just be brave enough to join him on any one of his five or six weekly trips to Dominica’s, world revered Boiling Lake.
Originally from Laudat, Green has been a tour guide for the better part of 21 years, beginning in 1990 working with a local hotel, and save for two years spent on the neighboring island of Martinique, he has practiced his craft unceasingly.
An excited expectant father, Green professes that it is not easy to maintain his busy weekly schedule.
“I usually go to the Boiling Lake five, six times a week during the tourist season. I also go to the tallest mountain, Morne Diablotin, Morne Trois Pitons and Morne Anglias. I discovered these areas on my own,” he said.
He continued, “I did a lot of research before I became a tour guide. It’s a lot of hard work but I’m still there fighting. I’m waiting for the next season. It’s a hard battle; it’s not easy.”
Green was awarded Tour Guide of the Year at the Ministry of Tourism/Discover Dominica Authority 2011 Tourism Awards, that marked the end of Tourism Awareness Month, on Tuesday.

Peter was born and raised in citrons/Newtown and isnt from Laudat as was erroneously stated.
We grew up together and has been quite an outstanding tourguide . Gooms as he is affectionately called has made a tremendous contribution towards the development of the tourism product.
Quite simply he is the leading tour guide in dominica, if not the subregion. His work has been featured on several international and regional travel magazines including TIMES TRAVEL MAGAZINE and just recently was featured on the cover story of ZING captioned entitled ” MAKING THE LEAP- How Dominica is transforming itself into a world class hiking destination”. He has also been blogged on THE DOMINICA DIASPORA where some videos of him is being depicted.

Can any one get this guy contact information and put it here. I have a few friend who wanna visit Dominica from Miami and i think he would be a great tour. They have never been to Dominica before and i think they should get the best. cause word can spread fast.
