ec loblack bridge

This photo was sent to DNO by a concerned person who believes this broken section of the EC Loblack Bridge poses a danger to unsuspecting pedestrians, especially at night.

According to the sender, there are no warning signs and would like the matter to be addressed immediately.

The EC Loblack Bridge is one of the main bridges leading into Roseau.

If you are using that bridge, please be aware.

Only until an American Tourist fall down inside the hole and break their leg and sue them, that’s when the hole will get fixed.

Afuss some Dominicans does kontwayez me! How allu expect fixing this sidewalk is the cabinet’s job? Seriously??? Of course I totally agree that this is a serious hazard; however, there is a ministry responsible for bridges. Some of you who are blaming Skerrit for not fixing the sidewalk may very well be employed by the same ministry. It’s high time we put the blame on the right people – those who receive a salary every month to do their jobs in their respective ministries. A lot of civil servants just sit idly on the jobs – especially the senior ones and do nothing! Then we are very quick to blame the Prime Minister! Stupes!!! You’all really think this is the job of a PM?? Come on man!

Really? Have you heard the ministers of government for the last 10 years – the PM did this , the PM did that. Besides the PM always say ” I PROVIDE MONEY FOR THIS AND I PROVIDE FOR THAT AND I FIX THIS AND I FIX THAT”.
Just so you know or you pretend not to know the condition of the bridge has been spoken about for a very long time.
Do you remember when the feeder roads issue came up you Laborites said that the condition of the roads were as a result of the opposition not being in parliament. Now you are blaming the government workers- well sir the issue at the bridge use to be the job of public works department but you know what PWD is like now- no need to educate you , you are not that dumb maybe bias but not dumb for sure.
Until the rail give way and somebody in your family platais Banana into the Roseau River then continue to be conveniently dumb and blind.

I often say when a government is focused on how to stay in power to safeguard their interests, sooner or later it’s going to catch up with them. While they dazzle their supporters with bribes and pay little attention to the tangible things to enable and empower the people’s lives, it’s a matter of time for them to fail miserably.

The results are: politicians/comrades get super wealthy, supporters are faced with poverty, food shortages and a very high crime rate. That’s the doctrine of Hugo Chavez’s ALBA that Roosevelt Skerrit embraces for The Commonwealth of Dominica.

The first caption is the broken flag but if you look closer you see the broken and corroded hand rail post. We are talking about the main bridge into the city. The Marigot hospital was and is the shame of the century and an apologist may argue that it was out of site out of mind but the Roseau bridge is in your face, under our wheels and feet everyday and yet $200 thousand going here there and everywhere to buy votes, $500 thousand for the bishop cathedral, duty free in hundreds of thousand for party supporters, building material IPO for Mr this and Mrs that. Are we serious? Do we really think that this government deserve another term in office.
Amidst the lies , trickery, propaganda, corruption and a failed management system do we expect this band of hijackers to be of any value to our country.
People have been talking about the condition of this bridge for a few years now and instead of at least doing some renovation work on this bridge this government is busy trading money for votes and then they will come and blame Norris Prevost as the Parl Rep for the Roseau Central ward.

Wait till we see the condition of the Woodbridge Bay /Deep Water Harbor facility. Do we remember that the decaying condition of the facility was brought to the public a few years ago? Hold your horses.

You see when the we keep patching up a high pressure system with lies and illusion the leaks and sudden ruptures will keep surfacing day after day. We spent many years looking at the end results of those magicians but we never took the time to analyze the flaws behind the tricks. Now that Chavez is gone, China got what they wanted, Kadaffi gone the smoke and mirrors are no longer functional and so the audience can see that the magician is really not that smart.
The higher the monkey climb is themore it will expose it’s – you know what

At this point in time that is not Skeritt’s priority. His priorities are pit latrines, pampers, baby wipes, Dr. Pascal, Mr. Lennox Linton, Mr. Lugay, the red clinic, two hundred dollars for senior citizens and how is he going to stop Mr. Linton from talking his job.

      August 13, 2014

U mean Skerrit is the one responsible for the ONE broken concrete slab on the bridge?

You people cannot be serious! One would think that the only Ministry that many of you educated Dominicans know is that Office of the Prime Minister.

Please Direct this to the attention of the relevant authorities…. You Ppl are too petty! Its like skerrit should do everyone else’s job and then they get paid for it!

        August 15, 2014

I recall some time not too long ago we were hearing and reading almost daily that we cannot eat concrete as roads and other facilities were being built or repaired? Yet, when there is something that needs concrete some of the same posters complain?

I am not saying that a broken bridge does not need repair or could not be dangerous; I am just reminding us that things that need concrete have to be worked on also.

Just that everything cannot be done all at once, and when the jobs are assigned the people working on the projects have to take their jobs seriously also. I wonder if there is not already a work order to fix that bridge.

Pedestrians and motorists have to be careful and continue to take these reports to the correct authorities who can assign the work to fix the problems to make our lives safer and better. I will be careful when using the bridge and hope it can be fixed as soon as possible.

All you complainers and critics. Ever consider that your soul is breaking down if it has not yet already broken down? This should be your primary concern. When last you prayed for D/ca, nationals, for yourself and your government including the other politicians as the opposition? Would be interesting to know. Complainers get nowhere. You must do something constructive.
