My brother would have understood that the PM had important business to take care of. Do you know that he made it back the next day to attend the private internment in Morne Prosper.? He spent some time with the family. So stop the bickering.

WOW! even in death we have a problem.

@ dominican in maimi – no alcoholic never admits they are.

all that is politics. wasn’t the PRESIDENT at the funeral? the Head of state. Did the PM just neglected the STATE FUNERAL?

well i never met him personally but know the type of diplomacy he has and phycology i want to believe that he had to ask himself which one is more important.

    1. our beloved former President
    OR
    2. the surviving people of haiti? who are in desparate need.

The office he holds as CHAIRMAN i believe would have him out of the office at this time. it’s SAD to know that around those TWO UNTIMELY issues DOMINICANS are preaching politics.

but just WAIT! GOD words most fulfil. you all will soon SHOUT! u all mouths.

3> PERILIOUS TIMES WILL COME and trust me they are coming.

DOMINICA is not exempted from it all. we will have of just recompense. and trust me u DOMINICAN IN MIAMI you would want even de PRESIDENT OF America to visit a delegate meeting like what our PM is attending to help DOMINICA wont YOU?

that’s just some food for thought!

@ Steve and dominican in miami,

This is why the country’s progress is sometimes slowed. People like you two waste time lamenting on issues which are really irrelevant.

Honestly, if the PM was on island it would have been right for him to attend. However, he left the country as Chairman of CARICOM to aid in the Haiti Quake Relief efforts. You all mean to say that the PM should have stayed on island and attend a state funeral, where his presence wld not have made a difference, seeing that Mr. Sorhaindo has already died. I think going to the aid of an ailing country was more pertinent. He can help make a change in Haiti, not at a funeral.

This is just plain stupidity and ignorance on the part of you all. This definitely shows how you all leave your lives because you have yet to recant on your statements. Vybez let them have it. They just like a bunch of pessimists, who will always look for the tainted section of the situation, but never look to the good. Keep playing politics and let’s see how far the gets the country.

@ dominican in miami, sometimes I feel that people like you who have left the country should just keep this rubbish to yourselves. You have moved to a country where it should be expected that you would be enlightened on the facts of life. But unfortunately your statements don’t speak to that fact. Don’t know if it is of your own fault or the powers at be.

Dominicans stop playing foolish politics and let’s look at the issues at hand for our development.

This message is for a student of DSC.

So what you are saying is that as the head of Caricom he should have not attended the meeting to raise funds for Haiti?
by the way, you are not the only one who voted for him….show more respect how? Mr. Soraindo received a state funeral, the flag was flown at half staff for him what else do you want Skerrit to do? He is a human being just like you and he cannot be in two places at one time.
If it was a situation where he was on island and did not attend I would certainly not support that move and that would have been disrespect…but my God he was attending to something else so what is the issue about? I am certain that if he did not attend the meeting, some people or maybe even you would have complained and said that he did not go and attend to the Haitians or try to help them. But then again that is typical human nature, you just cannot please everybody.

    @ Steve,

Did you not hear on the news that the Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit of Vieille Case was heading a CARICOM meeting in Dominican Republic regarding sourcing/raising funds for Haiti? Or is it that you do not care to listen to news?
Why does everything have to be so political?
