PM Skerrit to address Dominica Rising Benefit Gala in Toronto

PM Skerrit will address the event

Toronto, Ontario – On Saturday, October 13, 2018, The Commonwealth of Dominica, Ontario community will celebrate Dominica’s 40th year of Independence, with Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit as the evenings Keynote Speaker.

The event will be held at Markham Convention Centre, 2901 Markham Road at McNicol, in Toronto.

The official ceremonies will begin at 7:00 pm. The Gala will showcase Dominica’s cultural heritage: its traditional dances, folk songs, and a colorful display of Dominica’s national dress the “Wob Dwiyet”; along with performances by Liberty Silver, Juno Award winning Artist LAZO, Jay Douglas, Robert Owen, Hermina George, Singing Janice, Andrea Henry, Will Lafleur & the CDOA Cultural Performers.

The evening’s co-hosts are Chardelle Moore of WBFF Fox 45 Baltimore and Chris Hayes, Director G98.7FM Newsroom.

Prime Minister Skerrit will update on the island’s progress after the 2017 Category 5 storm, Hurricane Maria, and provide insights into the island’s rebuilding, and quest to be the first climate resilient country in the world.

As a firm step in that direction, Dominica has announced as of January 1, 2019 that all Styrofoam food containers–straws, cups, plates, plastic cutlery and single use plastic containers– will be banned.

The evening’s sponsors include Discover Dominica Authority, Caribbean Tourism Organization, Food for the Poor Canada, Barbados Canada Foundation, Afro Global Television, G98.7FM Eastern Caribbean Freight Lines, Caribbean North Charities, Caryl’s Hairstyling and Caribbean Camera.

“On Saturday, October 13, 2018, The Commonwealth of Dominica, Ontario community will celebrate Dominica’s 40the year of Independence, with Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit as the evenings Keynote Speaker. ”

You know there is nothing wrong with Dominicans around the world celebrating Dominica’s independence, after all  Dominica is a our country; it is my birth place. The Village of Wesley is where I first saw the sun, and although I am a naturalize American citizen, there are days I yearn for my adolescence years in Wesley.

However, I simply detest the idea of any Dominica association in Canada Timbuktu; or any other place in the universe, associating themselves with one so corrupt and lie to speak as Roosevelt Skerrit to address anybody on an occasion of Dominica’s independence!

What can one such as that liar who’s way of articulating himself is beneath that of a kindergarten student has to say to anyone that could make sense? Is the association going to…

@Sam, may I ask where do you see the essence of truth in your claims, anywhere in the article above?

The essence of truth is pretty obvious and the truth is that you are in denial and appears to be a blind supporter of this failed PM and his rotten, failed corrupt Labour government we have had to endure for over 18 long corrupt years in office. The truth is something, supposedly within the Pm force initiated the Bin Bobol and the Fertilizer Bobol. Is this the truth? Because when Hon Linton exposed this Truth they the liars of your camp came out and said it is not true. It is when Hon Linton presented the evidence they went mute and said it the bribery was a mistake. Elizabeth what do you stand for, corruption of good governance and for Domininca? Stop you blind ignorant allegiance and stop fighting at those who want to see Skerrit and his corrupt labour government go and especially Skerrit. Open your eyes and face the truth as we live in a failed poverty stricken state called Domininca led by a very inept inexperience clown. This is the truth, put it in your pipe and smoke it. Sad.

Elizabeth for some who said Adios in a forum because of your foolish defense of Roosevelt; I thought you would see the light of truth in and stop defending him.

One of these days in you defense of that corrupted crook you will hear the gates of hell slam shut behind you, and your god Roosevelt!

I do hope that there was a great litenership on the freedom and me program on Wednesday evening. On that program Mr Steve Nicholas, former senior statistician with the government of Dominica gave an overview as it relates to the non-publishing of vital information compiled by the statistics division especially as it relates to poverty alleviation. It was alarming to say the least to hear that for years the government failed to publish the various reports. It must be noted that Mr Nicholas officially retired Auhust 2018.

He has started beating the election drum. I just can’t listen. To this man anymore with his bold face lies and his persistent dihonesty. Who on earth are these people who invite that as their key speaker???

Hope there is a question and answer period, because I have some serious questions for Skerritt. On second thought is anyone planning a protest?

What is the government doing to put the thousands who are presently unemployed back to work? The private sector is not being incentivized and the public sector is struggling , overloaded. Skerrit, ever so often, goes globe trotting while many of his countrymen and women face financial embarrassment, ruin and hopelessness. Poverty is skyrocketing, vagrancy proliferating, joblessness exploding and the government found wanting. They are found wanting of sensible solutions to the country’s myriad of ever mounting problems. Dominica has the largest Cabinet of Ministers in the OECS but can’t come up with any reasonable solutions for the ailments that have plagued this country for the past eighteen years. Truly pathetic!

Some illiterate say “That’s the election process…. deal with it…” Now we willing and dealing according to a blind loyalists of Skerrit and the corrupt labour government. Obvious lack of intelligence, denial of the poor level of governance and high level of poverty in Domininca. A cabinet empty of how to development Domininca, because of poor and illiterate leadership at the very top. Blind, irrelevant loyalist and so called advisers to Skerrit, with Skerrit not intelligent enough that these so called weird advisors re digging deeper into the pit, because that Skerrit is limited with some level illiteracy in socio-economic development. This is what we have to deal with, a bunch of political nimconpoof (Meaning: some people occupying positions and know not how to function) who are leading our country.
Skerrit must Go…and now. Get Lost, you are all failures, we had enough. Go!

Governments in the Caribbean are infamous for ‘stealing’ elections through electoral fraud, bribery and other political shenanigans. Many elections today are not a true reflection of the wishes of the majority of the electors. The donations of disaster materials are used as election bribes, the free plane rides for the overseas voters, the many loopholes in the electoral system, lack of openness of campaign financing and the list is exhaustive. This Skerrit-led maladministration has put Dominica in monumental indebtedness and the good that they have done, with these enormous sums of money, is invisible. Wise up people and take an unyielding stance against greed, incompetence, mediocrity, victimization, nepotism, cronyism and corruption.

In spite of all of that the majority of Dominicans love their PM eh!

In spite of their hungry belly, can’t feed their children, as long as the know Melisa, and her children, and Roosevelt belly full, they do not care about self eh; they love their PM!

As long as all of Roosevelt children are American citizen born, and are attending school in America, they do not care if their children have school to attend in Dominica; they love their PM eh!

Melisa, is American, Roosevelt is Guadeloupean  some will born and never have the opportunity to leave Dominica; and if they do it will be on ferry boat eh, but they love their PM.

How dumb and stupid are our people allowing Roosevelt to step in the face, doing nothing to bring progress to the country so that all could prosper; yet they love their PM while drowning in poverty!

Skerritt could not miss a session of parliament to go meet with Ross personnel for a meeting which was preschduled, he didn’t find it important enough to secure the economic development of the country, yet he can find time to travel to Toronto for an event at which he could have sent a deputy. His priorities are misplaced.

All this man ever does is travel and more travel, so he can collect the per diem, no wonder things aren’t working out in Dominica. Compare the national debt when he came into office compared to now, look at the unemployment rate then compared to now, examine the state of health services then compared to now, compare exports then compared to now and please don’t tell me about no hurricane because things were a bloody mess before the hurricane hit last year. Fly Skerritt fly and don’t come back another day
