Note how the PM looks good and healthy in this picture. No one commented about it. This is how you non-DLP supporters are. You made many negative remarks about his other pictures.
Pertaining to the Slave Trade ACTe Memorial area, D/cans who are able to visit the site should do so. You could call it an educational and remembrance outing/visit. In fact excursions should be arranged to give those who wish to visit the opportunity to do so.

Once again, the govt. press release is accompanied by an outdated image of Roosevelt Skerrit. Of course, they want to make the boss look as good as possible but this borders on the ridiculous and insults our intelligence. If you want to wee what he looked like yesterday 9 May, at the Caribbean Climate Summit in Martinique go to: martinique.la1ere.fr/2015/05/09 la journee de Francois Hollande en Martinique en images (image 13 from 15). I am increasingly concerned about his his state of mind as well as his physical well being.

A prime minister with no vision at all . sorry his only vision has been for him self.If Dominica had grown and developed at the same rate as the PM we would be saying he is the best PM in the Caribbean region. What has PM Skerrit really done and achieved for the people of DOMINICA over 15yrs.Brothers and sisters the fact is not a lot in fact in real terms if he were a student his report would read below average ability, lacks vision with little or no substances. He upto now in real terms has failed the people of DOMINICA but not himself. He may yet come good and make shut up.

Cabinet meets every Tuesday. That is at least one meeting every week.

Cabinet is not parliament and you know that very well. Dominica is not yet a one-party state and all people have the right to be represented. I realize our P.M. may not feel the same way bu that is too bad. We are not China or Cuba and I hope we will never be.

Dominicans need to know about this multi-million euro project mentioned in this article called MEMORIAL ACTe (written with the small “e”). It is the largest monument related to slavery in the hemisphere according to Julien Rogers MBE a Caribbean broadcaster who is involved in the region a ligation of the opening event. Hopefully the Dominican delegation, (they) are aware of a song titled “Nou travail pou ayen” which is one of the first popular awareness songs in the French islands…It was a hit recorded by a Dominican group.

I think the first word is “Nous”. As for working for nothing (in English), it depends how they feel about it. This was the way it was and nothing could have changed it then. Thank God they were freed and they welcomed their freedom even though it was still under difficult conditions for a while, not having their immediate freedom.
As long as the world lasts, from generation to generation, slavery and the abolition of same will never be forgotten. We do not have to be bitter about it. While we sadly reminisce about the slaves and what they experienced, we should thank God that it no longer exists.
We should learn from them, to love and care for one another instead of biting at each other. I am certain those ancestors would not be pleased. Think of them and how they would like each one of us to be, to get along, no exception on this Website, when providing our comments. This would please them most. They suffered and fought for our freedom until the end of time.

A great pity and I must concur. He addressed the Assembly in Fort de France on 1 April last year and again, we have not heard a word of that speech here although I understand it was published in the French media. Are we not worthy enough for him to share even the words with us which he utters on our behalf? Roosevelt man, are you weary of your own people? Do you only need us when it is election time?I wish you would change that attitude brother.

    • The Facts
      May 10, 2015

You are blaming him. Do you think it is his fault why you did not hear his speech? You should conduct an investigation about that to find out whose fault it was or did you miss it. Anyway, every time he travels and speaks, is it necessary that you read every word of his speech? Generally the Media should broadcast only the most important part of the speech, what really concerns D/cans.

When the Prime Minister goes on his trips, why does DNO bother to report it. The man has no respect for Dominicans and the press. We are the ones paying for the trips, but, whenever he come from his trips, he plays a nicodemus on us. Recently, he went to Malaysia, had it not been for a radio talk show host, we would have been left in the dark. We paid for his trip to Jamaica, again he played a nicodemus on us. However, when Hon Linton went to a meeting in Washington, although, he paid his own expenses, he reported to the country. If that isn’t true leadership and transparency at it best, then what is. Quite frankly, I really don’t care, whether the man goes or comes, Dominicans gain absolutely nothing.

What did Dominicans gain when Lennox came from his trip in Washington?

        May 8, 2015

Garcon, you are one bold feller. You all did not even want government to pay the airfare for Lennox Linton to go on parliament business but you asking what he brought for you? You just sounding like family who ask their relative what kado they bring from abroad without asking how they are first. One word I learned in school for that, uncouth.

    • The Facts
      May 10, 2015

Do you reside in Dominica? He is the PM and the Media will always report it. If it was not reported, you would criticize him. You know the saying, “Darned if I do and darned if I don’t.”
You should only know what is necessary; nothing more.

      May 8, 2015

Kid, you are sad and pathetic. Who can be jealous of a man who increasingly lives in delusional isolation, who can not even bring himself to move amongst his own people without heavily armed protection? Whom is he afraid of? Us, the citizens of Dominica the professes to love? I certainly wish him no harm but I am free to move without anyone paying me any heed and don’t owe anyone a penny. Roosevelt apparently can not. He is a bird in a gilded cage of his own making and is to be pitied, not envied.

        Titiwi,

Your level of ignorance should not be shown to the WORLD IN THAT WAY!!!!! Tell me of ONE HEAD OF GOVERNMENT OR STATE that is not protected by the state, just one!!! If Lennox had won the election he would have had the same COURTESIES EXTENDED TO HIM boss this is call PROTOCOL!!!!!!!!!!! It comes with the Office so stop exposing your IGNORANCE ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!! You EMBARRASSING US DOMINICANS BOSS TAKE A BREAK!!!!

      • Malgraysa
        May 10, 2015

Protocol is not the same as law. That is why a treaty is also referred to as protocol until it is ratified. The security and protection surrounding Roosevelt Skerrit is not just a courtesy. It is real and is expensive considering it is provided round the clock, requiring a lot of manpower and equipment. The question that remains unanswered is, what is the threat, whom is the P.M. afraid of in his own country? Protocol alone does not answer this. Is it perhaps a manifestation of paranoia and entitlement instead?

      • The Facts
        May 10, 2015

Do I need to inform you that he is the PM and must be protected especially in this era. Days gone by, the Chief Minister did not need this protection. Some D/cans in those days did not care about politics. D/ca did not have so many criminals and mean-spirited people. Dominica is not the Dominica that I and some others knew it then.
Those as the PM who hold important government positions must travel with heavily armed protection. So you have not yet got accustomed to it? You are the one who is sad and pathetic and behind the times. You appear to be uninformed about certain government protocol for the PM’s protection.
Whenever government leaders travel abroad or visit in their homeland, be it next door, it is mandatory that they are protected. This is the way it is.
I am surprised that you do not know that and took exception to it, criticizing him for it and Kid On The Block. This is ignorance. You have much to learn.

      • The Facts
        May 10, 2015

This is why President Obama and some other heads of state may, (I prefer to state will) never visit especially the small islands. They are heavily protected. They will not venture out without armed protection. In fact they are protected at their residence, whenever they leave it, wherever they go and when they return, 24/7.
Furthermore, traveling with their entourage will be expensive for the host country, especially those without an international airport. They may have to overnight and will also require a big plane to transport them and their paraphernalia.
Their protection is important. In other words, protecting them is important; no exception D/ca’s PM due to his status as also VIP. Hope you comprehend that.
