Police reveal traffic arrangement for new hospital ground breaking

Preparations underway for the function
Preparations underway for the function

Acting Police Superintendent, Richmond Valentine, has advised the general public of traffic arrangements made in the Lindo Park area of Goodwill, which will take effect on Monday, August 8, 2016 (today), from 3:00 pm.

This, he explained, is to facilitate the hosting of the ground-breaking ceremony of the new national hospital, which is to be held, at Lindo Park in Goodwill, at 4:00pm, today.

“Vehicles will only be allowed to travel in an easterly direction on Federation Drive, from its intersection on Rose Street, to St. Aroment. Vehicles travelling west along Federation Drive will be diverted onto Franklyn Lane or Grants Lane,” he said, in a statement aired this morning. “Vehicles exiting the Princess Margaret Hospital will be diverted east, along Federation Drive and onto Grants Lane, or west onto Charles Avenue.”

Valentine stated that local access will be permitted on Dupigny Lane, from its intersection with Rose Street and Federation Drive.

However, to allow for the free flow of traffic, he revealed that “vehicles will not be allowed to travel in a westerly direction along Federation Drive, from its intersection with Dupigny Lane and Rose Street.”

He added that parking for invited guests will be provided in the following areas:

“the southern side of Federation Drive, from the intersection of Rose Street to Dupigny Lane, the northern side of Federation Drive, from the intersection of Dupigny Lane to Franklin Lane; the western side of Rose Street, from its intersection with Murphy’s Lane to Federation Drive; and the Princess Margaret Hospital parking lot.”

Valentine apologized for any inconvenience caused, and asked for the full cooperation of the general public.

I think it would make a whole lot of sense and set us part from the rest of the Caribbean and teh wrold for that matter… if there where a Naturopathic Wing to this hospital where Naturopathic doctors in and from Dominica & around the world can learn and practice.
The Naturopathic concept is in line with our motto ‘Apres Bondeu c’est la terre’ n the Nature Isle and natural tourism.
We must start leading in the things we are experts, use our own knowledge and strengths as well as learn from other cultures and countries but we should not forget what we already know in order to avoid following others mistakes.

    Bless

That is why they wanted to create the impression that Rose Street was in good condition by paving only a 50ft section in front of one house a couple months ago while the rest of the road remains in a deplorable condition. If you were diverted through Grants Lane or Franklin Lane from Federation Drive you would have no clue of the deplorable state of the rest of Rose St. Go ahead and enjoy the passport money with more and more celebrations and leave everything else in the country to run down! One of these days it must come to an end.
