President calls on Dominicans to roll up their sleeves after Maria

The President every Dominican was impacted by Maria

President of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin has called on Dominicans to roll up their sleeves and help themselves and each other as the island continues to reel under the impact of Hurricane Maria.

Speaking at the presentation of monetary contribution to several charity organizations on Wednesday, he said Maria has impacted every single Dominican.

“There is really nobody that I know of who can say that Maria had no effect on him,” he stated. “Every single person living on the island was impacted by Hurricane Maria.”

He said there is now nothing left to quarrel about and all must roll up their sleeves.

“I am saying this to say that there is really nothing left for us to quarel about, we have to roll up our sleeves and help ourselves and help each other,” he stated.

The President said with “absolute faith in the mercy and the forgiveness of the Almighty and with faith in God” and an unwavering commitment to rebuilding, “we can have a new Dominica in a shorter period of time than when we looked outside the day after Maria.”

During the event $39,500, which was raised during the President’s Charity Fundraising Dinner, was presented to some 18 charity organizations on the island.

Is this man for real? Never heard so much BS in all my life. Man, if you’ve got nothing more constructive to bring to the table I would you to shut up. …or better even resign, you are not our president and you never will be. Skerrit put you there against our will

Why would you take your time to write such nonsense, is this what your political partisan beliefs have done to your mind, robbing you of your ability to reason, very sad indeed. It is not that you have not heard so much BS in all your life, it is your mind hijacked by political partisan beliefs preventing you from distinguishing BS from reality. Here you have The President of a Country using his office and time speaking at a conference to raise money for a charitable cause and you saying such thing is not constructive, wow, regardless if you don’t like The President, it’s ludicrous to suggest that such event is not constructive.

When you say that the President was put in Office against “our will ” who is “our” you are referring to, again you have shown you cannot distinguish BS from reality.

So, DNO let me try it this another way; Savarin collects one ($1,000.00) dollars per day for sitting nothing from the Taxpayers Treasury. His annual salary based on a three hundred sixty-six days in some years means the makes  $366,000.00 dollars per year in addition to living free in a mansion at the expense of the Dominica poor; of which more than seventy (%) percent of the population do not have a job.

How can this man suggest people help themselves and others when they do not have any money in a time like this? How come Savarin did not donate $29,500.00 dollars of his salary to the 18 charities: He would have given away less than 10% of his annual income, each charity he could  have given a meager $1,638.89.

    Hence: $1,638.89 X 18 =$29,500.00

That guy is a hypocrite; how much did he spend to party, and entertain the people at his diner to collect the meager amount he boast?

Charles Savarin is not in a position to lecture to us, not at all. I believe that people like Savarin are ignorant and blind to the real social, economic and political situation that our dear Dominica is in.
Please sir enjoy your ceremonial duties but please refrain from lecturing us on good practice and other matters of development, or lack of in Dominica. Too many opportunists are about in Dominica. I am not calling any names. Who have ears will hear, who have eyes will see, it is open all over Dominica for us to see who is patriotic and who is opportunist.

Who are the people in Dominica that put up with these ……. people like Charlo and Skerro ? I would like to meet some of them to hear their reasoning for putting Dominica in so much misery .
These guys are the two major stumbling blocks in the path of Dominica’s development and it is even more sad that they are being praised by so many Dominicans.
It seems like Dominicans like to misery , so many people are expressing their sorry for the land and people, but Dominicans seem to blind by the corruption of their leaders.

What does this guy really do for Dominica and Dominican more than get a big fat paycheck at the end of the month. Alas god knows Dominica could really put that money to good use ?This guy is just sitting in a White House costing Dominicans more money ? In the meantime PM is running the whole show??

Boy Charlo you have belly eh! Because you are not in front of me I have no choice but to puke on my computer screen instead of on your face. Where have you been while Chief Carbon, Deputy Valarie, Boaster Bad-will, the Punjabi Dr. PM and his useless gang of misfits ( so called Calbinet) were wrecking what Miss Maria left behind. After all that wood we get from Maria, you and your gang continued to bleed us recklessly by silencing the voices of reason and refusing to be all inclusive. Man , go hide yourself and ask for repentance before it’s too late.

I want to vomit but I just wish Skerrit was here so I could vomit in his face for doing this to my party and country. Charles Savarin president, under a labor party administration? Miss Charles would not even make him a junior Minister. But then again when a man’s ways are evil his selections must be evil so evil People can guard evil doers like Skerrit. It’s an evil system an evil administration so what you expect

Should anybody wonder why Dominica is in such an economic mess?

When you have illiterate people like you voting labor the country must exist in poverty. You are so illiterate you do not know the difference in the words  ” right” write and wright! The word wright means, a worker skilled in the manufacturing of something i.e. woodworking; the word is used in a combination of shipwright, or wheelwright!

The name of someone can be Wright! When I was a kid there was a man in our Village his name was James Wright!

The word right implies: conforming to facts or truth, meaning to be correct, so in the event you wish to condone Savarin rubbish you should have written the word right! Get an scholastic education before you dabble into politics.

You need to roll up your sleeve and leave the office. Your position has no value; it’s the PM that’s running things. Give up your position and we will make better use of the money we are spending on you. Salary, butler, driver etc.

@ Frustrating i wish I could give you a million likes. I have been saying the same things. There’s a lot of Wasteful spending going on in Dominica. The country really needs that money now. I hope the PM will hire a good financial adviser and do some cutting back on these wasteful spending like having a President and useless ministers

Anytime I see a picture that resembles Charles Savarin I am upset! Charles Savarin reminds me of how Dominica was destroyed in our young babyhood and innocent stage by Charles Savarin, when he used his position as GS of CSA to destroy Dominica when she was less than a year old. The man put a 48 day strike on Dominica to get rid of Patrick John and THE DOMINICA LABOR PARTY, for something much less than what we see happening today! MAGWASA! Less than a year after he introduced that kind of evil to Dominica, we were visited by hurricane David that flattened us with 150 MPH wind. Today Laborites allowed that same evil man, who by the way was rejected by Mamo, to become PRESIDENT under Skerrit. Under his reign Dominica was plunged into evil as the evil reign of Skerrit continued to get more evil. So in 2015, less than two year after he was made president we were visited by Erika but we didn’t take warning. Under his evil reign Maria came. Under Savarin David, Erika, Maria punished us
