President of Dominica His Excellency Charles Savarin paid his annual Christmas-time visit to the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday where he took the time to mingle with patients and those who worked at the facility.
During the visit several persons, including retirees, who served in outstanding capacities at the hospital, were also recognized for their work.
Addressing the award ceremony at the Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) conference room, the President said the visit is an important custom while at the same time urged awardees to carry their level of dedication into the new year.
“This annual visit at this time of the year is an important custom as it provides an opportunity for interaction with the patients and with our health professionals,” he said.
He noted that during his visit to all the departments of the PMH, “the most striking thing is that the patients whom we asked, ‘how are you? How are you feeling?’ was that they were doing much better than when they came to the facility for assistance.”
“My wife and I, therefore, embraced this opportunity to extend best wishes for an enjoyable Christmas season and for the realization of your hopes and aspirations of the New Year,” he noted.
He said as we approach the end of another year “it is fitting to thank each and every one of you for your continued hard work and commitment to the noble profession of a medical caregiver and to urge you to carry forward your level of dedication, and where possible enhancing of your service delivery into the new year.”

Hey! All you see his entry into the PMH? Look who is leading the way! HIS WIFE!!!!!! “Your Hexilency shoulders are sagged.
DNO – Protocol states that the wife of the president is referred to as the first lady. For some reason we have bestowed that title on the wife of the prime minister when it is in fact reserved for the wife of the president. It would be great if the photos were captioned as such. Thank you
the wife of the Head of State is the first lady. In Dominica the President is not the head of state
Ignoramus, you are no credit to your party! The Govt. itself says that The President is our Head of State (see the Govt. web site: http://www.dominica.gov.dm/about-dominica/head-of-state) which shows a picture of President Charles Savarin.
Who cares…..
very nice though
It looks like the Government pulling out the stops with feel good stories before Christmas. Roosevelt my friend just pay the people at public works and all those that helped to clean up after Erika. That is what these people need right now, not stories to make yourself look good. These people are hungry and can not pay their bills. Fix that fro them for Christmas please, I know you can do that.
You are one who will always spoil a good party. Party Pooper! You never have anything encouraging to state.
Why don’t we all laughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh????? It’s a JOKE!!!!!
Nice!
