Mr. Bernard Darroux, or, “Teacher Wella” deserves much more than he is recognized for. He, along with other dedicated educators, has transformed this small village from obscurity to prominence, particularly in the field of education. The result is clear. Congrats, my former teacher. (I try to write the way he taught me.)

Lol…Look how the man is doing as he pleases! and no one can do a damn. All they can do is go on DNO. What comments on DNO can do to skerritt? These people really don’t want any change of that beloved regime. Kick their butt skerra.

If Alix Knights, the discarded Presidential nominee and one the most unpopular woman in Dominica could receive a Sisseruo Award, Mr. Lennox Linton should also be given a Sisserou Award. Apart from giving Skeritt the biggest headache of his political career, Mr. linton was responsible for uncovering the Bin Boreball which caused Skeritt to return thousands of dollars to the treasury. He also brought to light the never recovered alleged fifty four million dollars involving a Chinese gentleman and Skeritt. The repayment of approximately fifty four thousand dollars to the Treasury was because of his brilliant work as an investigative journalist. Mr. Linton is one of the very few people in Dominica who obeys Skeritt. We must not forget Skeritt was the one who asked Mr. Linton to remove himself from behind the radio microphone and become a politician, now he has done that, Mr. Linton has become his biggest headache.

When will Magistrate, cultural promoter, volunteer extrodinaire, youth advocate, and so much more, Gloria Augustus make the list, stop with the party politics and award those who tirelessly help our youth, most times for NO MONEY.

What about small, hard working stalwarts like E.H. Charles, Sukie, Burtons and Co, Jolly’s Pharmacy, Mac Millan, Curtis Tonge, Jays, Whitchurch…the list goes on. Hope these business owners will be honored soon.

what do you mean by “small”? If you mean local, established entrepreneurs, then say so. The names you mentioned are not small by the usual standards of measure.

Some of you are so divisive. Always pointing a finger at Skerritt and then trying to outdo him in whichever disrespectful behaviour you are condemning him for. One day this divisive trend in the country will stop. If you guys are not happy with the man, vote him out at the next general elections and stop preaching this discord and division in the country.

If Bonti Liverpool of Grand Bay does not deserve to be on this year’s or even last year’s list of national awardees, then what is the criteria for being awarded?

Hmmm …. the story on the four time retired nurse have me going .. on another note do we ever give awards to the customs officers and income tax officers who work so hard to collect the government revenue?

It’s all well and good to reward the business men and women etc, but the people who toil to collect revenue for the state should be recognized too

      Did you nominate her?

    • anonymous2
      November 2, 2013

Well lovie, if you feel that she deserves it, next year when may/june rolls around, look out for the announcement in the media eh?? then go ahead and fill out the relevant forms to RECOMMEND HER. sakwey domnichen.

  21. He helps us all
    November 1, 2013

For one to be honoured, recommendations are made. First you should take a good look at the names listed and first determine whether they deserve it. I believe they do. If you would like to be honoured – go ask your aunty you recommend you or make the necessary recommendation to the relevant Ministry within the time frame requested. It is time we stop branding people as Skerrities or Lintonites. We have to start giving Jack his jacket and give Jacquiline her lipstick.

It is true they are all Skerrities. Like it or not, it’s the truth. Davidson John? For what? Give me a break.

  22. Help us lord
    November 1, 2013

Why not just honor all Skerritites for their loyalty and dedication to Skerrit? Take a look at those to be honored and you will see what’s happening: Waddy Astaphan, Alix Boyd Knight, Karam family {I guess for appeasing them since the president that terrified them at one time has been elevated). Roselyn Canoville for nursing? OMG! Is this the same nurse from Thibaud that has been retired 4 times under Skerrit and the only house in Thibaud Skerrit goes to every week? I will say no more other than if such persons are rewarded then one needs to ask what are the standards set if any?

    • November 1, 2013

You hit the nail right on the head. I asked the same question when i read the news and was asking myself what was this nurse achievement in the village. In all the top nurses at the pmh, she got it, what a slap for the other hard working nurses. I would add more but will end there and who do not agree with me i will reply and give them examples.

I don’t know the story and therefore cannot disagree with you. I know that the way things happen here you would be speaking the truth.

So don’t wait for someone to disagree with you; just tell us. Thanks
