Reggae star calls for an end to child abuse

Fontaine believes the problem of child abuse must be solved

International Reggae artiste, Nasio Fontaine, has added his voice in condemning a large number of reported cases of child abuse on the island.

The matter is a major problem in Dominica with 157 cases, the majority being sexual abuse, reported between January to September 2015.

The Dominican star is of the view that the problem has to be solved.

“The message is clear, the message is crystal clear.,” he stated. “A big man cannot see a little girl, a little child, a little baby at that age to think of molesting that child. This is impossible. Sometimes I look at it and I tell my wife, is it really true what the news say? An eight-year-old and a 40 something-year-old, and the child is raped. This is Dominica, brethren, we need to solve our problems!”

Fontaine said if the trend continues, the government will have a problem in maintaining the prison service.

“Because when you see our men start to molest little children, then our jails are going to get filled up, then the government won’t be able to come up with enough money to supply,” he said. “This is a psychological problem this cannot keep on going, we need to stop it and we need to just stop it!”

Fontaine said also called on all men, including those holding offices, who date very young girls, to stop the practice.

“I am calling on every Dominican man right now,” he noted. “I am talking to politicians also because you guys molesting people too.”

Nasio, Gordon, musicians are Dominican.. The treatment meted out to such icons by their own black brothers and sisters in “Power”, is nothing but asinine, madness.. Irrespective of what some good-intentioned Dominicans do to uplift themselves, people and country, they are being, will be victimized.

For many, Nasio should keep his mouth shut, don’t express his feelings against child, woman, man abuse.
He against Gov’t. He doh like Skerritt, blah. More victimization.

Nasio and Gordon, who have not been treated rightly, as cultural/musical, international icons, have again shown deep love for country in their efforts in raising Relief funds. The Q95 radio thon, with Nasio live in studio, raised $20,000.00, as relief efforts, . Patriotic.

They are international artists, doing much for DA, by their own efforts, than many who have used public office to enrich themselves in quick time

Mr. Fontaine, the blessed Dominica Labour Party commends you on taking a stance against the despicable acts that are being done to our Nation’s children. Although we endorse and support your statements we caution you that your affiliation with the propagandist radio station Q95 diminishes its value. Mr. Fontaine, as an iconic representative of Dominica in the International Community your words are powerful and far-reaching. However, given the bad reputation of Q95 and their puppet masters, the Uneducated Wicked People it would be wise to stay far from them before they taint your name and reputation. Mr. Fontaine, these men and women who run and support this violent and trouble-making political party are a small minority compared to the millions of God-fearing and peaceful Labourites all over world. Thus, we urge you to seriously consider the company you keep. By the way, Kairi FM and DBS welcomes you anytime. Feel free to drop by. :-D

Any parent must love and protect their child or children to the best way possible and keep all sexual acts away from children. Also i we need more counseling centers island wide for the very young parents who make a child. Also the government penalties are to soft.Castration and one hand chopped off with 40 years should be the penalty for all men committing this act.

      uk Dominican:

FIRST, because there is no law making it mandatory to report sexual child abuse.

This raise another question. Why has the government not given you such a law? They have been petitioned for it again and again. There is a reason behind their lack of response. Let he truth be known :!: When is a NGO going to take this bull by the horns and wrestle it to the ground :?:

SECOND, they are too busy enjoying the prestige of their positions. They don’t want to get their hands dirty, and it could be too time consuming.

THIRD, it is not their department nor does it fall under their “job description”. Whatever it is they do saving the children is not a priority.

Thank God for men like Nasio Fontaine :!: We need many more like him.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

I am pleased to know that they were arrested, charged, tried and imprisoned. I suppose the number of years which they are sentenced is based on the manner of crime and how much time they spent in prison prior to their trial.
These men should be rehabilitated. If not, they should receive a stern warning that when released, if they re-offend they will spend some more time in prison.

It is heartbreaking that some people are so evil and wicked (mentally ill?, no, sick evilness) that they would DESTROY some sweet young person’s innocence and childhood. I know people who have been raped, molested and beaten in childhood and even with therapy are damaged the rest of their lives. This is pure evil and it happens all over the world. The numbers in Dominica is alarming. We must all speak up and report anything. Better to report and be wrong than do nothing and be right. Trust your gut feeling. Speak to the children if you have suspicions. They need to know they can talk about this and get help.

I am informing you or be reminded that God will severely deal with them on that day. If they do not ask God to forgive them with a humble and contrite heart, live a Christian life, make penance and sacrifice for their atrocious sins/crimes against children, you can guess where their souls will end up for all eternity. They will condemn themselves.
We say God is merciful and He will forgive. There are some sins that are too atrocious for God to forgive. I do think harm/injury/rape to children who are vulnerable is one of them. Because they also did not ask Him for forgiveness.
This is why we must speak up and tell them about it. If we fail to do so, God will hold us accountable. There is a lot that some people do not know.

Child sexual abuse have always existed but,no one listened to the poor people ,they have no money, neither a good job and this made their accusations less believable ,because in dominica what ever you do or say your social back ground matters for those who take a nasty pleasure in belittling human beings like themselves, but what goes around comes around. Many .Policemen are in a lot of cases of child abuse but some parents get paid and cover up the matter due to what the society may think of them and their kids, some complaints are put in the bin because the accusers are police family or friends,in order words the high level of corruption adds butter to their bread and this can be seen with the life style that they have.neither is the justice system stepping up to that .Something isn’t right, as long as they are paid to free sex offenders or rapists this is what matters for them.Every politician owns a lovely car and house for sitting doing nothing ,dominica is more back ward than…

We need to reach out to the children as soon as they can understand. Educate them on the dangers. Tell them what to look for. Tell someone when they are touched inappropriately. Even family members cannot be trusted. Take the message to the schools and churches. We need more advocates for these kids. God bless dominica.

  18. December 1, 2015

much respect to my brother Nasio for having the courage to stand up and speak against these ghastly acts being perpetrated upon our poor innocent children. I cannot understand what would drive a grown man to do this to a child. please don’t tell me they are sick because we all know that is not true. these men are simply wicked and plain nasty. these deviants who do these things should either be castrated or thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. enough is enough and it is about time that we as a nation take a stand against such behavior. stop destroying the lives of our children.

I do so agree with you Mr fontaine. and i just want to add my voice in condemning this evil Act that is going on in our beloved Island. yes this Must be stop but the question is how are we going to do it. i strongly believe that creating the awareness such as having programs, radio talk shows, going into every church, schools, youth groups. every institution of learning. you would be amaze at how much we can get out of our young people and children. the thing is creating that free space that the youth and children can talk.

I do so agree with you Dominican in V I, There should be a massive awareness campaign about child sexual exploitation right through the Island starting in pre-schools, weekly radio talk shows, TV talk show, parents awareness groups should be formed to teach them the signs and what to look out for, how to protect their children.

The fact that a lot of child abuse cases are in court is only because people are beginning to be a little braver than when I went to school in Dominica. this was brushed under the rug and not spoken about, also the child was not believed, and even blamed, especially when this act was committed by someone in the community that people looked up to. eg, police, teachers, ministers, priest, doctors etc.

    Yes, my brother, I concur.
I say it is only sick minds that will conduct such evil acts against innocent children who are so vulnerable. The people who commit such acts truly need psychological help. We also have to take into consideration whether such people were also abused. Even though we all need love and appreciation, two of the most group of people we have to respect, love, cherish and assist are the elderly and the children. In my opinion, they are the most helpless.
As you stated, you are calling on every Dominican man right now. Our brothers have to take their places again in this society. They have to be responsible and respectful men in our society. The family consists of the man, woman and children. If some of our brothers do not take their places in this society then the future of our children will be very bleak.
The sisters need our support and we must take our places again and let there be united families. We have to set the precedence in this society.

These men should stop abusing the people of the nation.

Those who do not have computers may not read the articles. I hope it is also relayed loud and clear on TV and Radio. Meetings should be held in the towns and villages. The relevant Parl. Rep. including authorities of the Social Service Department. The entire nation must be made fully aware of this and that those who molest/rape minors will bear the consequences of their action that, they will be dealt with by the Court.
Since the government of Ontario of all persecutes such people, once this crime is reported, there are hardly ever child-abuses and molestation/rapes. I would think this applies for the rest of Canada. They know the Law will deal severely with them.
According to this artiste, it could be stopped. All concerned must take this seriously in order to eradicate this scourge on minors.
Some of those adults may need counseling and rehabilitation. Most of all they need the grace of God to assist them to suppress their evil urge.

Some people are addicted to sex. It is their god. They feel they must have sex. Imagine doing this with a minor. What a shame! Some will kill to get it.
In Canada and no doubt in those other big countries, children have been raped and murdered. This shocked the entire nation.
Thank God, so far, to my knowledge this has not occurred in recent years. At least, not in Ontario. I hope no more. I feel this is because of the stringent law against abuse of children and also women. There are more accidents and some adult men murders, the latter drug dealers/pushers, those who are targeted.
When child murderers/rapists are imprisoned, they are isolated from the rest of the prison population otherwise they will be murdered. The prisoners, as bad as some of them may be, have a code of ethics that anyone who harmed/raped/ murdered children and of course are caught and sentenced to prison will be killed.

I congratulate reggae artist Nasio Fontaine for speaking out against men who sexually abuse children.

These men have deep psychological problems. They are mentally ill. But worse still they have a sin problem. This abnormal pathological behavior comes from a sinful fallen nature inherited from Adam sometimes called by people in my field ”the Adamic” nature. In the case of child molesters the problem is they have yielded to a very abnormal temptation from that nature. By feeding it they have cause it to grow big enough to take over their lives.

But God can forgive, heal, and deliver them if they will surrender to Christ, and receive Him as their Lord and Savior!

Mr. Fontaine, I thank you for your work. Because of your life and exceptional talent you are held in high esteem. People will listen to you. You stand tall as an example of what a man can do with his life when he uses what God has trusted to him.

      • December 1, 2015

        mastermind:

        I refused to mention nothing!

I referred to ”men who sexually abuse children”. The word ”men” includes politicians. It also includes reverends, pastors, and priests. All men who abuse children were covered in my comment. Their occupation or profession was not the issue.

If you know for sure of a politician, or a reverend, pastor or priest who has molested a child you should report it to the police. You have a moral obligation to do this even if your government does not require you to do so by law.

Of course little boys are also abused. I did not deny this. But we are speaking here about the ”men” who do the abusing not the victims so I had no reason to even bring the gender of the victims into the discussion.

More girls are molested than boys because usually about 3 or 4 per cent of the population is homosexuals. However, we have statistics that show a homosexual is about three times as likely to molest a child as a heterosexual…

ohhh common Padre, Christianity has long-term history of molesting and raping entire nations in the name of Jesus Christ. Religious organisations created so many evils on Earth that you guys just have to shut your months up and don’t spoil people with your fairy tales about sins. Religion is a slut with nice tendency to spread legs for those with money and power. Religious leaders blessed Nazi to kills Jews, another leaders instigated Jews to kill Palestinians, another leaders instigate to cut opponents heads and guess what ITS ALWAYS done in the name of God.
Problem of child abuse was created by people and have to be resolved by people via social mechanics such as educations, prisons, public registries etc…only organisations to be excluded from that resolutions process are religious : churches, mosques, synagogues etc as you are tainted entities and have no moral rights to intercept public agenda

The truth must be told. People cannot keep quiet about that because it is now an epidemic. The little girls are losing their innocence and are scared for life because of perverts and pedophiles. This is a serious matter.
As a national, you too are obligated to speak up. You must play your part.
As Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Those who want to save their life in this world, will lose it in the end” – in eternity.
Everyone has a part to play. If more of you speak up, even other crimes could be eradicated.

      • December 10, 2015

        Face the Facts:

Thank you for having courage to speak out and encourage other to do the same. People need to realize they have nothing to fear from reporting these men.

Pedophiles are cowards. They are psychologically under developed men who have never progressed to the stage where they are able to develop and maintain a legitimate relationship with a woman in their own age bracket. Instead, when they experience the biological desires that would lead a normal man into romance, courtship and marriage they direct their sexual impulses towards children.

These men (except for the homosexual pedophiles) are often married but they do not have fulfilling marriages. Often their wives are very much in control of things Their encounters with children place them in control at least for a few minutes and gives them a short sense of fulfillment.

These men are cowards. You need not fear them. They should be reported to the police immediately.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill…

If anyone should hurt him for speaking the truth and exposing those who are in authority, then the system is truly corrupt. As mastermind commented, “reverends, pastors and priests are molesters too” and they also need to be exposed and held accountable for their crimes. That is why I have no confidence in these religious people because some of them pry on the poor and vulnerable. They are sheep in wolves’ clothing, just as their bibles state.
We need to have more humanitarians like Nasio, to stand against what is evil and hurts the vulnerable and we need to pinpoint, continuously, those who are responsible.
Not only those who are caught need to be brought to justice but also “the reverends, pastors, priests and including those holding offices and date young girls, and politicians, also,” according to Nasio.
Continue on your path against evil, my brother, until justice is served against the vulnerable.

LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD BY THOSE WHO…
