Three 40-foot containers of bottled water and dry goods have finally left Dominica’s ports for Haiti, to assist in recovery efforts following a massive earthquake in January.

Local authorities say rough seas averted shipment of the goods earlier.  Charles Savarin, Minister for National Security describes last week’s shipment as a relief.

“We had had three shipping dates, and in each occasion we’ve had some difficulties all of which have been explained, but I can say that the containers have in fact left Dominica,” he confirmed.

“We were all very relieved that in fact the supplies were taken on board and are en route to Haiti,” Savarin said.

The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA), officials of the National Disaster Preparedness Office, and shipping agent HHV Whitchurch, are some of those which collaborated to make the shipment to Haiti come to fruition.

What!!! You must be joking. So long that should have reached and only now it got there? That just shows inefficiency by the authorities involved. Savarin coming and talk about rough seas averted the shipment earlier which is just a Bulls**t excuse!!! Nah man they need to be more serious than that.

If they were serious that shipment would have gotten to Haiti long time. Those Haitian maybe doe even want those things again since it took soooooooooooo long to get to them. LOL
