Rick Davison gets clean bill of health

Davison

Rick Davison, who was injured in the recent Pagua Guest House attack, was given a clean bill of health today after a visit to his doctor.

Davison was taken to Miami after the attack where he underwent surgery for a fractured skull and cheekbone. His recovery has been nothing but miraculous and it appears he will not suffer any long term effects from his injuries.

“We went to the doctor’s office, the doctor took Rick’s staples (from the surgery) off and he got a clean bill of health,” Davison’s wife Alicia told Dominica News Online. “We are really looking forward to coming home.”

The attack left Irishman Joe Costello, a manager at Silks Hotel, dead and Rick and Alicia, owners of the Pagua Guest House, suffering from various injuries.

The incident sent shock waves through Dominica and three men have been charged for the murder of Costello.

The police has ruled the incident a robbery but his has been disputed by the Davisons.

One of the guys who did the attack was working for Pagua Bay. I guess it was a fall out that went very wrong. Pity poor Joe had to pay.

So no conspiracy. As usual murder is done to those we know not strangers as per 90% of the time.

However … St Kitts has had 25 murders this year so far. My God, we look in good health compared.

    Dominica and God are good.

In a response, I should have used the words “brutally accosted” by those thugs.
Alicia and Rick gave an account of what occurred to them on that fateful night. Alicia stated that they offered those thugs money and they refused. Obviously, as she stated they were ambushed. Why then is the Police calling it robbery? There was more to this crime/murder than robbery.
The Police were not even present and to make matters worst their telephone was inoperable and shockingly so for a Police Station that they could not be reached while those dreadful actions were taking place.
Please Police cease saying that it was a robbery. You are getting us angry.
Based on the circumstances, the evidence of those who were affected and who lived to tell this sad tale, sensible Dominicans are not so gullible and foolish to believe you.
Furthermore, sadly, Joe Costello was murdered “ON THE SPOT”. Those thugs stole after they committed a murder and injured the owners of the hotel. Why did they refuse the money which was offered to them at the onset?
We are left to conclude that they had a primary and ulterior motive and why they went to the hotel at 9:00 pm.
The thought is crossing my mind that they may have known that the Police Station was without telephone service.
How can you keep saying that it was a robbery? Are you watering it down? Please call a spade a spade. Thank you!

I am glad someone is still bringing that up! When the victims are saying it was not a robbery but an ambush, it’s pretty clear they know the truth as they were there! I commend Alicia and Rick for their honesty in what happened and how they have handled themselves w/the utmost class in this horrible situation. This was not a robbery but an ambush and it appears that all three victims were the target. Police please find out the true motive and the masterminds behind this crime. Rick, Alicia and Joe deserve the truth and justice!

Yes, you have a lot of mouth! The gruesome incident made news and as news spread, no doubt internationally.
Consider this sad incident could have happened to you, your family or friends. Think of others and not your selfish, self-centered and impatient attitude. I often wonder when people are so negative and do not utilize their basic common sense, if they have any, are they loving Christians and genuine ones at that who practice the faith and possess godly enlightenment. Where do you stand and whose side are you on? Your comments and attitude will depict it.
We give thanks to God that Rick and Alicia are mended and that they continue to love Dominica and wish to return. We pray for them and hope that they will return to Dominica to continue their work of assisting Dominica economically. God knows that Dominica is in dire need of good people as Rick and Alicia who will also encourage other good and honest people to invest in Dominica.
In my heart, I do feel that they will return with a renewed vigor to assist Dominica which they love and have made their home. God bless and protect them as also Dominican residents.

It’s nice to read something positive relating to this crime.

I’m pleased that the Davison’s will be returning to Dominica. They have made Dominica their home, their business is in Dominica, so why should they pack up and leave. Lets hope they continue with their plans to expand the business.

Dominica must be the ideal place for them to recuperate.

Negative! They love Dominica and were very much at home there. In other words they made Dominica their home. You should be happy about that and wish them well.
This is real, real talk: Pray, too for them and for your (our) country that such crimes are eradicated.

    Alot of these police officers
can’t differciate crime, they call assault robbery, robbery theft, battery assault and so on and so forth.I have had occasions dealing with the police as a witness to criminal activity and alot of them don’t know a heck what they’re about. Not even a statement they can write, not good at writing sentences.

Are people disliking this comment because they think it’s not true, or because they think it’s true but shouldn’t be said? If it’s true, then it’s a big problem. We need to have high expectations for the people whose job it is to keep us safe, and hold them to strong standards of competence.
