The Rotaract Club of Roseau has admitted three individuals to membership of the club and eight guests have shown interest in starting the process toward joining the Rotaract family.
Information technology technician Robert Pascal, student Rachel John and amateur boxer Albert Blaize received their badge and a hand of friendship from Rotaract Club President Stiengel Carter at an induction ceremony on September 23, 2010.
“You have been chosen for membership of the Rotaract Club of Roseau because we believe you are a worthy representative of your calling,” President Carter told the members.
“I have nothing to say to you as to what you will get out of Rotaract, for that depends entirely upon yourself,” Carter said, adding, “so with Rotaract your enrichment from it will be in proportion to you giving into it.”
The induction was part of continuing activities of the Club to observe its 25th anniversary. Eight young people between the ages of 18 and 30 have also expressed interest in joining the club at a recent “guest night”.
Activities for the club’s 25th anniversary will culminate with the hosting of the 2011 Rotaract District Conference in Dominica.
