Savarin doing well in hospital; has full government support

Savarin

Government is said to be providing all the necessary support to Dominica’s Minister of National Security, Charles Savarin who is currently recovering after emergency operation in Martinique for a cardiac condition.

Cabinet Secretary Felix Gregoire and Youth Minister Justina Charles visited the Savarin at the La Meynard hospital in the French island over the weekend and found him in very high spirits.

A press release indicated that the delegation was very impressed with his progress following his surgery.

Savarin was air-lifted to Martinique on Wednesday June 15, 2011 after being hospitalized at the Princess Margaret Hospital where tests were conducted to determine his cause of illness.

A press release from government indicated that surgery was performed on Savarin three days after he arrived in Martinique.

His is in the company of his wife Clara.

Didn’t Petter St Jean called Ron Old, and his boss placed an 80 plus year old man for President of Dominica. I’m not wishing the man bad, but it just shows us how hypocrite and deceptive this Government is.

But who told you it was a cardiac attack the man had? The article said “condition” not “attack”. Get your facts right before commenting.
And furthermre, shame on you people who still wish a sick man ill. Cleanse you own hearts first!

Since a Minister of Government has to be flown to a French country to receive treatment or surgery, it tells us a lot is needed to improve our hospital here in Dominica. This should have been on the urgent agenda of the current administration when they engaged in diplomatic ties with China.

Our politicians fail to understand that when they bicker among themselves the country suffers. It is okay to hold a different opinion however, people must not hold grudges.

Illness and Near death experiences most often brings transformation. Anyone who have been in such a situation will tell you that the meaning of life becomes a whole new ball game. The way you treat others, family for example takes a new dimension. The good old virtues becomes priority – honesty, truthfulness, sincerity, these all come into focus whether it be through religious conviction or just the desire to be a good human being.
Caribbean change maybe you need to gather your thoughts and present them in an organized manner – then you can talk about growing up. For now you write like my 6 year old

I am pleased that Mr Savain is making a good recovery and wish him all the best.

Can the appropiate authorities look into the state of medical attention in Dominica. Can they make the necessary improvements at the PMH to insure that in future no one needs to fly here there and everywhere for life saving treatment.

Please treat this as a wake up call.

A successful recovery to you Charles , I do hope that you have receive a new perspective. Life is short and fragile but while you adopt this second chance it I important to recognize that a quiet conscience sleeps through the most vigorous storm and that a clean heart is the pillow to a peaceful night rest.
Mr and Mrs Steffan could not be resting easy when they were so proud of your once upon a time willingness to stand up against a corrupt regime and the suppression of truth and free speech.
I do sincerely wish you well

What has anybody falling sick has to do with a new perspective? The man is sick just like anyone of us falls sick and that’s that. We all have different views on life so falling sick has nothing to do with the way we think about things. The man is entitled to his own opinion however he sees it and so do you too, entitled to your own opinion. Grow up. Time to grow up.

You are a sick SOB!! You almost seem to be happy that the unfortunate gentleman fell sick so that you could rain down torrents of political discourse on him. Pray that you never get sick!!
