Section of Bath Estate told to evacuate immediately

breaking newsResidents of a section of Bath Estate called Paradise Valley have been told to evacuate the area immediately as heavy rains continue to affect Dominica.

The Office of Disaster Management said the residents should move to the Roseau Primary School.

Nadia Riviere of the Bath Estate Improvement Committee said everyone in the area should leave by 4:00 pm.

“We have a system on us and we don’t want to have any more fatalities in this area,” she said in a live interview on state-owned DBS Radio. “We are advising that everyone who are situated in that area to evacuate and move across to the Roseau Primary School which is open at the moment, we have people on the ground to do what the Disaster Office has advised…”

    Can you give some information on Boetica, or when the phonelines are expected to be restored. We have not been able to contact family.
