Several bills will be introduced when the Seventh Meeting of the First Session 0f the Ninth Parliament convenes on Monday morning.
Finance Minister and Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, will introduce a bill that will provide an arrangement or legal framework to aid in the resolution of the insolvency of British American Insurance Company Ltd (BIC)) and Colonial Insurance Company (CLICO).
Justice Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore, will introduce a two bills: one for an act to amend the Money Laundering Act, Number 8 of 2011 and another for an act to amend the Proceeds of Crime Act Chapter 12:29.
Additionally, newly elected member of Parliament Denise Charles will take her oath of allegiance and will take her seat in the House of Assembly.
Is the Opposition introducing new bills or do they still think that giving the Prime minister mapwi will make him change the law on their behalf?
I hope the bill for the Roseau bi-election is on the agenda. Why should Ms. Charles be sworn in and there is another seat that has to be vacated?
Where are the amendments to the Sexual Offences Act promised for this sitting?
Hmmmmmm……this bill will never go to parliament as long as the recent BIG case “allegedly” involving prominent people is pending. Mark my words.
Always Assertive!
What about the child abuse bill? why all that foot dragging?
