DOWASCO has advised Dominicans to store water as the island’s water system could be affected by approaching bad weather.
DOWASCO’s PRO, Ed Registe, said Dominica’s water system remains vulnerable since the passage of Tropical Storm Erika last year.
“So again we want to reiterate that everybody should keep water in storage for at least a day or two in the event that our water systems are impacted and we have to interrupt supply,” he said.
He advised that water for consumption should be stored in clean and covered containers while water for other uses can be kept in barrels and the like.
Registe said DOWASCO will continue to monitor the weather and ensure all it can to maintain the supply of water.
It seems some comment are deleted not because they are constructive criticism but it seem education is a crime because I stated the buckets should be covered for people to know they should be to prevent mosquito breeding. It was deleted.
everyone does so basically, but heard the GM of DOWASCO on air this morning..making some good points..but he say money…haha means that the Govt of the day needs to have a more robust water structure in place..Dominica has too much land not to have massive water storage areas….that cannot be accepted in a modern world….
Innovation and scientific aspects is the way forward for DOWASCO…
but it’s Dominica they aren’t outstanding in anything at all….
backward island..
