The Roseau River was swollen on Monday morning following heavy rains

The Dominica Met Office is warning residents in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks to exercise caution as a westward moving tropical wave is affecting the island.

The wave will result in an increase in cloudiness, scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms across the area during today with an improvement in conditions expected by afternoon, the Met Office said on its website.

Moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 hours with swells peaking near 8.0 feet.

Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution.

I wonder why the PM was not the one making that statement about the tropical wave on his two radio station and living more than half the country without the info on tropical matters, its a trend that has been going on for years with our dear leader. this man will rather have some dominican slutter under the heavy weather for his own political gains . dam.

Why does the met office wait until after the event to tell us.
Just look on the weather channel a couple of days prior and then get Marpin and Sat to flash the message across the screen. This way residents can be better prepared
