Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony, in his address to the nation this evening, Monday, July 8, regarding the passage of Tropical Storm Chantal, has announced that all schools, airports and businesses will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9 until the “all clear” is given by the goverment..and then dominicans will still be like labor power..tomorrow morning skerro will make an annoucement when all ya’ll caught in the storm..God help this country

Lol….I agree
Many Dominicans residing overseas writes negative comments about Dominica, and this is very sad. I have been residing in Houston Texas for 27 years, and I will tell you, Dominica is beautiful and developed. After all, take a drive on the Major Roads, look at the beautiful buildings, Watch some of the local TV programs, listen to the radio stations, and what about the small businesses selling the local foods on the highways, and at the small retail stores? Moreover, tourism is doing well, and so much progress and development in all communities throughout the island. Without a doubt, Dominica is doing great and I am not being political but I think you should agree the present government is doing an exceptional job. On June 29, 2013 I night landed at Melville Hall Airport, 8:40 p.m., and was so impressed that I cried with joy and a sense of gratitude. God Bless Dominica and god Bless the present Labor Party Leadership. Amen I Say!
BE PREPARED! Better safe than sorry. Don’t take anything for granted. Wisdom crieth in ALL things!
God bless
Only Nat and Cecil I does listen to. I waiting still
Lol! I agree Ashley!
I hope my PM doh call off work cause last yr when he did we were criticizing, so lets use our own discretion this time and see if a days work is more important than our lives
And every one please be safe during the storm and lets all pray for the safety of Dominica, friends, family and ENEMIES.
Thank you Dominica Met Office for your dedicated time. We in Dominica need to appreciate what we have even Haitian that come Dominica and saying things about our met office please. Come on people these people are not God they can only tell us what the radar shows. Stay Safe everyone

it look’s like some people take every thing for a joke
cancel work! its not worth it!
TS Chantal, quite possible could be a blessing in disguise for the island of dominica..
When a society is evil and corrupt as Dominica is presently, natural elements normally brings sense to hard skulls in the society
God watch over Dominica
Yah, coming from someone who wants to let all of us Dominicans know they’re in South Beach. I suppose Dominica is more evil and corrupt than South Beach right, or America, where you’re supposedly living. Garcon, when allu leave Dominica, all of a sudden DA is the worst, Garcon I’ll tell you what, wash your hand, turn your back, don’t come back, don’t comment, don’t care, whatever, just leave us alone, if you just want to stay and condemn us rather than helping us to move forward.
Best comment ever on DNO
well said stupid me.
i think it will be a lot stronger when it hits Florida so keep ur Bible close cause u r gonna get a harder blessing than us n hope u will be there to tell us if u got the blessing
Pray for God to watch over A…H… like you! You want to call Dominica corrupt? I really wonder whether you are in South Beach or your imagination going wild. For what it’s worth, which country other than the US that is more evil and corrupt? It is no wonder why the wrath of God is falling on them and you by extension.
all i want to hear, is skerro say… stay home… i well need to chill n relax…
Lol….I agree
Yah waters under the rain. No work please
god watch over us
This storm is going to pass straight the met people never give us the right infor so I guess I will see if they correct this time around
I never pay attention to what they say. I take my news from the internet and the weather channel
You better pray it pass Haiti straight, or all like you so will have to make more bom to wire money back to Haiti.
its not them. they give us the weather based on what their instruments tell them but because of climate change the weather may change slightly…
seriously?? did they ever say that their info is accurate? they can only tell u what they know. but something like a storm is not something to take lightly and make such a stupid statement!!
it was people like you who did not listen to instructions when hurricane david pass
Anonymous, go easy on “Magic Me” nuh. hahahahah, maybe he/she was on the neighbor roof stealing internet (hoping it wasn’t blocked), maybe he/she was using the internet at work, or maybe they were at the neighbor pounding melee while using the internet
Is Chantal a bad lady?I don’t know much about her some of them somehow difficult to deal with.Let’s pray this one will behave herself
all chantal’s that i know are nice people but a little troublesome
thanks you dominica news on line because here in Guadeloupe am hearing nothing about the weather, congraulation and keep us in form for more updates
Fire on a lamp pole near REGISTRY ! OMG
ℓ☺ℓ. Am reading some “sick” comments and feedback from the post. Shouldn’t we be focusing on the Storm coming and the fact that we are on storm watch? Anyway peeps get prepared especially folks in the south of the island as the Storm centre will pass further south base on the storm predicted trajectory. So stock up on dry foods, water, extra cylinder of cooking gas, tools including a cutlass (u can tie some aditional insulation material-rubber-on the handle), flash light, first aid kit, battery operated radio are some of the essentials that you should be present for an emergency. Well folks although this weather is 20 toes weather-you still have to be cautious. There’s a storm comming so be ready!!!
all you give it to me today
i cyah understand da.thanks for the update
I was scared to drive this morning ..God Guide Us Please..
preparedness is key… hope everyone stay safe and secured
it have more at the back.pray
Anonymous, seems like Dno is yours before somebody post a comment you are at their throat. Anybody can make a mistake. Nowadays any simple phone have internet, so if the person say their house leaking wats your point, she could be renting. Its time that you stop trying to embarrass people and stick to the subject or better yet reserved your comments and insults and stop hurting human beings . Sad how we look down on our own people . Stop blowing hot and cold are you one of the parrots young bull sang about or are you trying to be perfect . Fed up
I hope that everyone is listening. It may be a minor storm if it should make landfall, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Keep your eyes and ears open, make sure you stay indoors to be on the safe side. DO NOT be too inquisitive, stay safe.
Stop the name calling, PREPARE AND PRAY. We will need each other before and after the storm. Even though the storm might turn, we still have to get ready. I still remember Hurricane David. It was not funny, and we had to depend on the outside world to help us. I still think it affected Dominica and the Caribbean for a very long time.
Life is too short, and we must love one other, our enemies. When disaster strikes, we will be surprise who will save and help us. Lord, protect Dominica and the other Caribbean counties in the path of the Hurricane. Because if it hits, it is going to devastating.
Dominicans are you ready? Has your Government provided for you? Guess what? I DONT THINK SO !
Are you retarded? What does a storm approaching dominica has to do with the government?
good job thanks for keeping us inform. keep it up. not everytime I get a chance to listen to the radio for the weather so I thank you for the updates
this will be the first named storm . let’s brace and pray .
The Alphabet doesn’t start on “C”… It’s name is Chantal
idiot…follow your news…and the is A and B before C…so how Chantal can be the first name storm.
This will be the THIRD (A, B, and now Chantal). The other 2 went quietly by.
Gorillaz…this is not the first named storm…it is the first in our area. Andrea and Barry were formed earlier further North. So this one would be the 3rd. named storm.
This is not the first named storm. It is the third named storm for the 2013 season.
No it is not the first named storm if i recall correctly there was one earlier that affected some areas in the US
What??? Well this world must be coming to an end. Cecil congratulating somebody???? I myself believe mista is a rasta man because all I hearing him say is I, I man, I, I, I did this, i did that. Well you never to old to learn
Calm down! Cecil is one of the best in disaster preparedness. He has done alot both individually and collectively for disaster preparedness. So yes he can say all what he did! Charity begins at home. Respect to you Cecil.
We must remain vigilant even while we pray. Citizens musst remain tuned in to advisories and updates. Caution and preparedness are key
Lord look over me , my house leaking so much

Congrats Fitzroy on notifying the General Public early. I hope they get the message and prepare themselves adequately and make informed decisions as to their well being before, during and after the event. The general public is urged to act early and dont overly expose yourself to the weather system…..STAY SAFE PEOPLE.
Cecil, how do you know it was Fitzroy who has informed the public? The article said the ” Dominica Met office. I really hope this is not the Cecil S who has his own personal agenda.
Through deductive reasoning. Ag Chief Met officer at the helm so it must be him. Leave Cecil alone.
Get serious this not the time for your ignorance!!!!!!!!!!! People please heed the advisories, don’t take anything for granted..
Emergency management at its best. Mitigation, Preparedness, if needs be response and recovery. Cecil and Fitzroy great work!
True Cecil, I really hope they take note of the weather and prepare. I’ve been monitoring this wave since it left the African coast.
God is good all the time, all the time good is God.
Why would somebody thumb down a statement like that? You are an atheist.Ignorant.
a damn fool only
If I am not mistaken wasn’t this phrase used by Skerrit and the Labour Party as a party political election campaign slogan?
That may explain the dislike registerred and goes to show why we should not try to mix religion and politics.
P.S In case you wondering I did not vote either way for that post :))
Just ignorance …pure ignorance they thumbs down without even thinking..May God have mercy on them..
very godly of you to call people ignorant…
