Twenty to receive meritorious awards as part of Independence 2016

coatofarmsAs part of activities to mark Dominica’s 38th Anniversary of Independence, the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica will present Meritorious Service Honours to several individuals.

This year, six (6) people will receive the Sisserou Award of Honour; nine (9) will receive the Meritorious Service Award; one (1) will receive the Service Medal of Honour; and four (4) will receive the Long Service Award.

The awards will be handed out on Thursday November 03, 2016 at the National Day Parade to be held at the Windsor Park Stadium from 8:00am—the highlight of Dominica’s Independence celebrations.

    It is sad to see that Dr Muller ( the french Doctor) who died a few months ago, has not been awarded posthumously.
    I recall that in 1979, after hurricane David and while being on summer holidays in France, he choosed to return to DA to save lives, while some Dominican doctors had left the scene !
    He remained in love for the nation and was returning to DA regularly.
