The day after Dominica was hit by heavy rainfalls due to Tropical Storm Erika, the Board of Directors and Management of the University of St. Martin (USM) addressed a letter to the Prime Minister of Dominica Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit, in an act of spontaneous solidarity.

In that letter USM pledged its support to the recovery of Dominica.

That very same day students, faculty, and staff began to pool resources to assist with the relief efforts.

The President of the Board, Mrs. Valerie Giterson-Pantophlet commented that “Dominica remains holding a special place in hearts and minds of the people of St. Maarten, this is our sister island”.

Her words reiterated the spirit of the letter penned by the USM President Dr. Francio Guadeloupe, whereby the promise was also made to accommodate Dominica students handpicked by that government to help rebuild the country.

The funds collected by the USM staff, faculty and students were used to purchase Baby supplies. Other items such as clothing and food supplies were also collected. The products were handed over to members of the Dominica Disaster Relief committee, Mr. Clayton Felix and Mr. Romain Laville to be sent to Dominica.

USM would like to thank all those who contributed to this effort by donating supplies or funds.

Let me refresh, a short while ago a frightened so called minister of education flew to St. Martin, claimed he went to recruit students to come to study at the Dominica State college, which we all know is not an accredited institution.

The strangest thing is that St. Martin has an University, so any idiot should realize if there is a University, there must be a junior two year college on the island. Why Petter believes that any student with commonsense who finished high school and enroll as sophomore directly in a university in their country, and go to place like Dominica to take classes in an non-accredited junior college!

The purpose of this submission is simply to expose the stupid mentality of the uneducated politicians who runs Dominica; a pile of blind bats with no solid educational background want to run country; how funny, some of them if say something to them about drinking water, the respond; well the sky is blue you know!
