This is a very dangerous and high risk job for both the electricians and homeowners and they have done it safely without accidents, which mean they are doing it thoughtfully. Thanks you for intelligent and strategic approach hopefully this can be completed Island wide expeditiously!

Only 2,000 people have power??? Isn’t there 75,000 people on the island? It’s been 6 month since Maria. I would have expected closer to 70,000 have power by now. What’s taking so long? It’s not like there’s a shortage of people to work and help out. The island unemployment rate is horrendous and there are many young men and women who would be willing to work.

Remember that 2000 doesn’t mean people, all 75,000 dominicans don’t have their own house. It’s 2,000 out of about 35,000. Still badly off I must say.

Can you talk of your contribution to restore power on the island . Have you dug one hole to erect a pole? At least that’s the most you can do.

If there are 70,000 or 75,000 you think each one have an account with Domlec? you do realize that number includes children and people who live in one household right?

Domlec should consider investing in bucket trucks to ease the men from climbing every pole I know some places are very difficult to deal with and they may have to let the men climb the poles but the bucket truck can do most of the climbing work, taking the men up to the poles safely with no fear.

Ah doe dig, that’s what Pt. Michel said abbot Soufriere. same going to happen in Gbay. They first bring the high-tension lines like in PtMichel then the people go on to get their hones tested so that other crews can hook them up. Justina is no big wig by any means, just ask Blackmore.

FLOW doesn’t give updates on restoration of the home internet connection or home telephone lines at all?? I suspect they making too much money on the data so they no longer care about the average man that cannot afford a smartphone but just want a little home internet so their child can do their homework! At least DOMLEC gives updates, all FLOW does is talk about big money data packages they’re bringing out!

How many electrical linesmen from other islands have been helping out. It seems that DOMLEC cannot do it alone, they are overburdened. Monies from the CBI program and what has been donated should be used to bring in electricians and bucket trucks from everywhere including the United States.

You honestly want government to take your tax money to help Domlec? You cannot be that wicked. Let me start by saying I hope after this Domlec start respecting it’s customers. Domlec cut my mom lights for $5.35. during a week when I had exams. They said it was a mistake but took 3 days to reconnect us. I can afford to buy my mom a generator so I hope Domlec never recover from this.

    • March 23, 2018

Restoring electricity is a work in progress, we just have to be patient. No mention of the eastern villages like Laplaine. CBI money is for government to use to do government work, Domlec is a private company making millions and they have brought in resources to support the local effort. Puerto Rico which is a US territory is still struggling to restore electricity so don’t expect any help from that area.
