Below is the full message from Kerry to the people of Dominica.

“On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica as you celebrate 35 years of independence on November 3.

“The United States and Dominica are united through our shared commitment to democracy, peace, and development. Through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, we work together to enhance the security and prosperity of our nations and the region.

Hello and good morning to my people. Thanks Mr Kerry on behalf of President Obama and the American people. I would like you to tell us if your NSA is spying on our elected Official and our business sector. Are you all listening to our citizens telephone conversations and taping out text and emails. I have been reading about what Edward Snowden released to Mr Greenwald,The Guardian ,The Washington Post and the New York Times. Is that how America know so much about other countries internal discussions. Am just asking because am concern of your snooping on my people. Also why isn’t Mr Clapper and Mr Alexander in prison for lying to congress or is it because they wasn’t under Oath so technically its not Perjury. We are a small country but we know what’s going on.

Sometime ago I wrote on this media If China Cuba,Russia,Venezuela or any of the Arab countries gives me $1,000,000 and say to me “One condition you must reside with us.” On the other hand the U.S.authority would say to me “Pay $50,000 and a green card is yours. I would gladly accept the later.

Anyway I am a U.S. citizen, and I can truly confess that I love living here. The opportunity was mine,my wife and two children as happy Republicans to vote for Chris Christie a few hours ago.
If you give my first comment a second look, I was not criticizing the U.S.But not agreeing with those thanking Kerry and President Obama for nothing.

From The bottom of my heart or from my heart bottom I say. GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.

We Dominicans most by all means, cease from always being so critical and political. (Secretary of state John Kerry) “On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica as you celebrate 35 years of independence on November 3. “THE PEOPLE”…. that acknowledgement shows us we do exist!…but some of the comments makes us look stupid in the eye of the world, This has nothing what so ever to do with Skeritt/politic…

It seems like even if we go to bed one day, wake up to see Dominica covered in gold, we may not even stop and think…is that a gift from God? but to think Skeritt did it…a simple thank you to the…PEOPLE/USA is final….Thank you USA…Obama please do not visit DNO…..please don’t punish all for the sins of a few..

Those of us who are in the USA, we are thankful to be there. Thank you Secretary of state. Dominicans want to have their cake and eat it too.
Dominica has all those Communist countries involved in Dominica, and they just want the USA to just come in.

We have to make up our mind. Do we want Communist, or Capitalist. When Hurricane David came, America was one of the biggest helpers. Dominica has Ross University invested in our country. We must be thankful the little that America is doing for our country, and giving those of us who are in the USA or the USVI’S so many opportunities. “Go America Go” Thank God for small mercies.

We do not need nice words from you John Kerry. We want tangible assistance like what Obama is giving Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.Don’t give us Billions, what about us$3.000.000 this would go a long way.
    One person wrote.
“Thank you to the Obama administration.”

My question is, thank you for what? What have we received from his administration. In 2008 Mr. Parry Bellot was on radio telling us how we are going to benefit because of he (Obama)being President.Just before the November 2012 election Dr.Thompson Fontaine told us.

“The re-election of Obama is a good thing for us in the Caribbean.”

If God permits we will see if you were right Doctor.

I believe one of his staffs wrote this congratulatory message, and John Kerry put his signature.

No one says the government of USA either,it’s always the United States. They say the President of the USA when directly speaking of the Obama so your point is?

I could not help notice earlier the the message from the chineese president was addressed to Mr. Savaren and Mr. Skeritt respectively.
the USA on the other hand rightly addressed its congratulations to the people of Dominica. Small but it tells you where each countries ideology stand.

What makes america great is the power that the people and private citizens posses. It is the only place in the world where the Government can shut down and the country still stand strong.
    Thanks Mr. Secretary

Are they strong? They appear so. How many were affected and financially suffered due to the shut-down? Have you not been listening to the US news? I would not congratulate them about it.

Just cuz China Premier and President wished us Happy Independence, they feel they need to make their presence felt too. Too bad US. According to Chavez, we are in nobody’s backyard.

  23. November 4, 2013

Thanks for the congrats USA, but why is it that the major economic developement projects in DA are funded by adversaries of the USA (namely China, Venezuala or Arab countries)? What does the Caribbean Security Initiative do for the typical Dominican? If it is “prosperity” that you wish to promote Mr. Kerry, then put your money where your mouth is. Hail Him.
