Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza has announced that the South American country will be donating US$5 million to help with recovery efforts in areas devastating by Harvey, particularly Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas.

“We can not let war be imposed, instead we need to impose solidarity. We will always be with the people of the United States and the peoples of the world in difficult times,” Arreaza said.

He explained that President Nicolas Maduro has approved a special program to help the victims in the states of Louisiana and Texas.

The plan was approved by U.S. authorities and the cities’ mayors, according to Arreaza.

WAW. Waawwwwwwwwww. So wait first of all shouldnt that money be used to feed your hungry in Venezuela? Secondly, this is a clear example of “love thy enemy”. America has relentlessly tried to undermine Venezuela for years, even almost labeling it as a rogue state. America pushed for the huge drop in oil and gas prices stating it was going after “ISIS” to cut their funding, in turn this totally also destabilized the Venezuelan economy (Coincedence?? maybe not). Now you the same Venezuela find it prudent to donate 5 Mil to America? Well that is love papa. I would let the greatest country on earth fight its own battles. Texas is one of the most racist states in America, even though a large number of blacks live there. MAybe this is the washout they need.

I am hoping this is a misprint on the part of the paper as it is appalling for the leaders of Venezuela to ignore the suffering of their people while they seek to assist others who are more fortunate. Please do not misunderstand what it is I am saying. In no way I am indicating that you shouldn’t help if you are able to but, we all know they’re not and like Chavez, Maduro is just a showboat; big talk and big moves while nothing of substance is there.

Texas is one of the wealthiest States in the USA so why send them this money aid, why not send it to Africa where the floods caused more damage and the resource assistance is most needed? Oh yes, this is President Maduro’s political circus! As President Donald Trump said, “Texas can handle anything!”
So President Maduro if you really want to do good follow this story https://www.actionaid.org.uk/sierra-leone-mudslide-appeal?src=ppc&gclid=Cj0KCQjw557NBRC9ARIsAHJvVVPjzJS0kPH0gFyPS2qUKEr42TKZaZ3iFID_JenOV-EHNG9-VKKEpEcaAhNdEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Truth, it is not as simple as it seems. Venezuela has a chronic deficiency in its refining capacity and most of its crude is refined in the Gulf area of the U.S.A. There is a direct correlation. Politicians make a lot of noise while business goes on as usual.

How’s that Venezuela can afford US $5 Millions to the flood victims and its people are in such a crisis for so long. People are dying. While its good to assist another nation but your people should be first looked after. Some of those millions could help feed some of the folks in Venezuela.

That’s like putting out your neighbour’s cigarette when your own house is on fire. I hate to be dismissive of charity, but this is just a desperate attempt to fool slow-witted people into thinking their own regime isn’t collapsing.

Pure propaganda. Then he going tell them blind mice see we help America cause they could not do it. Or maybe its a peace offering. Politicians you got to love them.

  16. August 30, 2017

Under Chavez, Venezuela donated millions of gallons of heating oil to the poor of New Jersey and New York, what did they get in return? crippling sanctions, regime change from the imperial power. we live in a world, where the good done, is always repaid with hate, guns and bombs, the few that keep tabs on world issues, can only sit and wonder. Because their government didnt benefit. they want to own Venezuela’s oil supply. Not just accept donations. To America that is a slap in the face to the greatest country on earth. Also, america has NO shortage of oil as they have stock piled for ages to come since the first gulf war.
