This year the community of Warner once again comes alive from the 19th of May to the 25th as the community celebrates its annual Village Feast under the theme, ‘Promoting Community Togetherness to Achieve Community Development’,

The feast officially begins with an Educational Health session by Dr. Samuel Christian on the Topic: ‘Fighting Non – Communicable diseases.’ These diseases remain prevalent in our society and so the topic has been deemed a fitting one.

DJ Allie out of St. Martin will grace the community with his presence for two nights, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 pm till at Nichoshill’s Bar in the central part of the community. Alongside him will be DJ Rock from the community of Penville

On Saturday the Warner Development Committee, in collaboration with The Warner sports Club and main sponsors Kubuli and Springfield Trading, will host one of the first ever Football festival in the community.

About eight Men’s teams as well as two Women’s teams will participate in this event. The games will begin from 12:00 pm.

Teams include Castle Bruce East, Wayne George, Mahaut Striketts, Backstreet Boys, Busta Warner among others.

There will be a grand Rounders Match on Sunday when Warner takes on Layou, then the Softball Cricketers will come up against a team from Mahaut.

To top the Sunday’s activity, a wet fete action with a local DJ will be staged right outside Nicoshilll’s bar and that will be done in “Blocko style”.

To bring the curtain down on Monday, Children around the community will take part in the kiddy sports day. Sporting activities for children of all ages will take place. While the children are having fun Domino action will be on at the Bar.

And finally Asa Banton will hit the stage form 8:00 pm till.

This activity is sponsored by the Parliamentary Representative, Rayburn Blackmore.

Kubuli is the main sponsor of this year’s Feast activities.

I am proud of the prime minister and the Labour party too. We as black people have to be onest with our selves, progress is being made , the prime minister is doing his best to help and educate us to do better. Every where in the world where you have black people and black leaders all we have is proffesional beggers begging some one for buildings or roads. We do not generate enough money to take care of our selves. We must praise our leaders but with our selves and our leaders we have to find ways to keep our money and build the roads our selves. We can celebrate but we have to find ways to stop begging countries to help us. It is better to fall flat on our faces and wake up buy our selves? Why is dominica the poorest country in the world? Why do we sent all our money over seas for people who don’t need it.

Banton- coming to town in warner beautiful , in every village in Dominica we have festivals in every village and thats bueatiful. Its always a beer company thats the main sponsor and its always close to a rum shop with kids rum and fun. And we have commities- that organized these events and they are put together well. We are very good at organizing carnival , over the yrs we do it perfect. ? The question is why can’t we operate a 30 room hotel. How much money do we spend on having a good time, we must have a good time thats life , but we must spend some time creating busineses too. Every yr we spend millions in having a good time, very little time in creating anything. ? So how poor are we. Most of our money leaves and go over seas. When we are having a good time we must also teach our kids to operate their own business and keep some of their money. If we open our eyes we can do more. After slavery governments and us are proffesional beggers, the chinese have to give us crumbs

Labour, Labour, Labour! Indeed we continue to celebrate our great election victory of 2014. Our Island Nation is now on course to benefit tremendously from the diplomacy and the wise Foreign Policy of the ordained and enlightened Supreme Leader and his Cabinet. We celebrate the coming of a new era in Dominica’s development and economic growth. The great and powerful, wise and compassionate Prime Minister, Dr. Roosevelt M. Skerrit, through the Economic Citizenship Programme, is set to transform Dominica into a modern marvel of technology, infrastructural development and capitalism. Labour celebrations are just beginning. As the big money starts flowing in, more and more happy Labourites will celebrate their prosperity and faithfulness to the Divine Party!
